One just said that a Subway Footlong couldn't be an accurate measurement, because people had different foot sizes!

I despair.

Chewbacca

What did you tell him Lucca?

Her... I think I may have said “oddly enough Kate, it’s in Pisa “

Actually I think she may have thought it was the leaning tower of pizza......hence her question?!!

Lucca Fri 16-Oct-20 23:12:03

That’s a particularly charming turn of phrase there phoenix
Re the dog...

I like the Derby family.
My memory is starting to slightly concern me these days.
I've forgotten their name too.

Lee's friend is Jenny and they do make me laugh. Cant abide the Manchester family, particularly the dad and that slobby dog

MissAdventure Fri 16-Oct-20 23:15:36

Ah yes. Thanks.
I don't like those big dogs jumping about.

Winston Churchill with severe indigestion, or a bulldog licking piss off a stinging nettle?

He's lost a lot of weight since the last series.

Sorry lucca blush

phoenix Sat 17-Oct-20 00:08:47

That's as may be merlot but he still pulls "that" face!

welbeck Sat 17-Oct-20 00:20:10

would make a good model for a gargoyle on manchester university.

Chewbacca Sat 17-Oct-20 01:04:45

a bulldog licking piss off a stinging nettle?

Worth remembering Phoenix! grin

welbeck Sat 17-Oct-20 01:07:31

Steve Allen on LBC the other night, was marvelling that not one of his very clever production team knew how many inches were in a foot.
three young man with strings of certificates.
it's just the generation gap, i guess.

welbeck Sat 17-Oct-20 01:08:41

of course they would probably say, why would i need to know it; i can look it up if i need to.

travelsafar Sat 17-Oct-20 09:07:55

I can't stand Jenny and Lee the two in the mobile home.

Love Giles and 'Nutty'

honeyrose Sat 17-Oct-20 09:39:52

I love Gogglebox and I watch it whilst DH having a bath. He can’t understand how “watching people watching telly” can possibly be funny, but he’s never given it a chance. It’s so amusing - I always end up laughing. I like all of them apart from the mum, dad and daughter with the multi-coloured crocheted mats on the table - they just state the obvious and have nothing to add. Giles and Mary (Nutty and Nutty) remind me of DH and me (but we’re not posh!). Love the camaraderie. Brilliant programme.

DanniRae Sat 17-Oct-20 10:00:29

I love gogglebox - I laughed at the 'different size feet' comment but I almost felt she said it for the cameras?
Lee's friend is called Jenny btw.

SilentGames Sat 17-Oct-20 10:11:22

I am finding as time goes on it’s becoming a bit scripted just like the BBC.

SilentGames Sat 17-Oct-20 10:12:49

I meant to add these kind of programmes have a political agenda

Jane43 Sat 17-Oct-20 12:05:55

I still watch Gogglebox every week but it is getting monotonous now because too many of them seem to prearrange things they think will be amusing. Jenny and Lee and Peter and Sophie are now guilty of this and so is Giles. My favourites by far are the Siddiquis from Derby, I think they are a lovely family with so much love for each other, they make genuinely entertaining and intelligent comments and I love how the father is so proud of his sons. The continual swearing of the Manchester Dad of the Malone family grates on me. Some of the newer families don't work for me. I think the friendship of the Bristol ladies, Mary and Maria is lovely.

I have watched some of the older programmes on All4 and it is lovely to see Leon and June.

MissAdventure

I do think the dad in the black family is a very, very handsome man.

Yes I agree and so are the three black brothers, I think they are from Bristol.

PollyDolly Sat 17-Oct-20 12:10:31

A couple of weeks ago one of the young females seriously thought David Tennant was actually Dennis Nilson!

Kate1949 Sat 17-Oct-20 12:21:44

Oh yes Polly That was hilarious. Something along the lines of 'Are you telling me that Dr Who is really a serial killer?' grin

Don’t wish to be rude but are you being serious ?

Iam64 Sat 17-Oct-20 12:26:46

Im not a regular watcher but switched over a couple of weeks ago, to find them watching Parliament. I didn't notice a political agenda Silent Games, more a reflection of how most homes round my area would be responding to Mr J. I won't of course repeat it but I spat my camomile tea out when I heard one your man say "ey up, it's T** Hancock. How I've never heard that before I do not know
Phoenix I wonder if your B*** or my t** is most offensive

beverly10 Sat 17-Oct-20 12:34:22

Merlotgran
GB is repeated just check the listings or record it when first shown. My faves are Mary and Marina. Don't you just love this couple ?

Roses Sat 17-Oct-20 12:38:47

I love goggle box but think the brother and sister are quite nasty rather than amusing
