Well we traditionally have a thread - so I am starting one.

All mothers of contestants are strictly (!!!) barred!

I'm rooting for JJ Chalmers! (I hope that's his name)

I miss Bruno and his Latin gestures, although once the frantic arm waving got going, whoever was sitting next to him often had to angle their head away otherwise they were likely to have been wacked shock

Loved this last night, much preferred this quieter rather than all the shouty razamataz we usually see.HRVY is brilliant! reminds me of Jay who to me was fabulous having said that I thought they were all very good but could do without CQ being quite so dramatic. It's great to have a bit of normality.

I am watching this so that I can discuss it with my granddaughters. I am reserving judgment on any of them at the moment but I would say that body shapes and proportions contribute to the success of how a dance looks.

But wardrobe is also very skilled at hiding lumps and bumps, and the costumes are well designed to suit body shapes.

JJ's father was Moderator of the Church of Scotland ,thats the highest rank in the church. Before that he was our local minister

Loved JJ's waltz also and Amy looked so pretty. Quite a good first week overall I thought. So much better without all the audience noise.

Phew! Thank goodness for Strictly to boost spirits on a day with dire news.

EllanVannin Sat 31-Oct-20 19:24:47

I'll say, Sparklefizz, I was beginning to feel ill.

honeyrose Sat 31-Oct-20 19:26:54

Yes - wonderful to get something fun and upbeat to watch! Will lockdown mean it will have to be halted for 4 weeks? Probably.

Sparklefizz Sat 31-Oct-20 19:28:31

EllanVannin

I'll say, Sparklefizz, I was beginning to feel ill.

Me too. I had a little cry, but now a bit of escapism is just what I need.

EllanVannin Sat 31-Oct-20 19:33:36

What a good job we have each other here to say how we feel.

Sparklefizz Sat 31-Oct-20 19:41:29

Yes, EV. It's very important. smile

Callistemon Sat 31-Oct-20 19:43:17

We don't usually watch this but this evening we turned over and caught Bill Bailey and I thought he was just brilliant!

8 from Craig!! shock

DD went to see him in a show and said he was extremely entertaining.

Will the Downing St announcement have an impact on SCD??

merlotgran Sat 31-Oct-20 19:50:17

They're all in a bubble aren't they?

Sparklefizz Sat 31-Oct-20 19:51:02

I don't think the Paso was JJ's dance. What do you think?

Sparklefizz Sat 31-Oct-20 19:51:50

Yes, Bill Bailey is light on his feet and something of a surprise!

Callistemon Sat 31-Oct-20 19:52:25

Who is JJ?

Sparklefizz Sat 31-Oct-20 19:57:56

He was injured in Afghanistan and I think he is now a TV presenter. Apparently he's a mate of Prince Harry's from Army days. I do hope he doesn't get a video call from H.

Kamiso Sat 31-Oct-20 19:58:11

Bill Bailey really surprised me. He did say that he was in it to win it but I didn’t expect him to do so well.

JJ was injured in Afghanistan and lost a leg and some fingers. It must be very painful but it didn’t show.

Callistemon Sat 31-Oct-20 20:00:16

Bill looks much smarter than usual - trimmed beard etc.
And apparently he's really called Mark.

Ellianne Sat 31-Oct-20 20:01:03

PECS

Will the Downing St announcement have an impact on SCD??

Well they won't be able to have all their families in the audience will they?

Callistemon Sat 31-Oct-20 20:01:51

Was that JJ's Mum or his wife? DH said his Mum but surely not?

Callistemon Sat 31-Oct-20 20:06:06

I have no idea who anyone is except for Mark Bill Bailey.

Apparently Jacqui Smith is in it

Sparklefizz Sat 31-Oct-20 20:06:31

Sorry, I was putting my plate in the dishwasher and missed that bit.

Maisie was good just now. I love the tango. Goodness, a 9 from Shirley and it's only week 2!!
