Do you binge watch?

My friends all seem to be binge watching The Crown atm. To me this is like having a box of chocolates and eating them all on one go. I prefer to savour each episode and make it last longer. What do other GNers do?

We don't have Sky or Netflix or Amazon Prime but just recently I've started to watch "Wsst Wing" on All4.(which is free)

Martin Sheen makes a very convincing President, almost as vain and super confident as Trump, but much more principled, kinder, more hard working, and vastly. .more intligent .

I do know it's fiction and the series was made twenty years ago, but it does seem true in many ways and I feel I have learned quite a lot about American politics.

I've never watched 'The Crown', nor do I want to. I think it's so unkind to be making up stories about people who are still alive. It must be so hurtful - hopefully the Royal family don't watch it!

I am kind of b be watching The Crown. We never had Netflix until recently so am loving the chance to watch it as and when I want. Usually watch 2-3 episodes at a time. Loving it and have decided I don’t envy their life one bit!

I haven't got that far Nanny100 so can't help sorry. Interesting to hear what others viewing habits are.

Spreading out a box of chocolates is akin to having leftover’ wine smile

Me and the OH do if you count up to 3 episodes at a time for days on end.... we did it with breaking bad, another I’ve already forgotten and recently Harlots ?

I seldom watch a weekly series, I miss odd episodes and lose the plot. To be able to watch a couple of episodes (a binge) one day after the other suits me.

I can't understand for the life of me why anyone would want to watch The Crown. Absolute garbage.

Bit rude to all those who watch The Crown. I haven’t watched it but respect the considerable number who have.

Our tv rarely goes on til 7-8ish. Quite like quizzes, crime or drama series and recently been finishing with a couple of episodes of Schittz Creek so we end on a lighter note. Only two more episodes left now so we’ll have to ok out for something else. Interesting to see the programme about the making of Schittz Creek and seeing how the different actors come across in real life.

I would watch say three episodes in one sitting and would definitely eat the box of chocolates in one sitting.

I’ve never binge watched. We do have Netflix which we watch occasionally. We tend to prefer the normal channels and watch whatever is “on” at the time. The tv is very rarely on before 7pm and I can’t sit still for long!

If it is something we really like, we binge watch.

I never cared for serial stories in magazines, or episodes of series on TV in the days where you had to wait a week to find out what happened next.

No not usually, I've usually got other things to do but I confess I did watch all the episodes of the recent series "Life" in 2 afternoons, it was brilliant.

I binge watched during lockdown 1, and am doing it again, now I'm in semi lockdown, at work, abroad. It keeps me going when I miss family and am sad. Getting involved in other lives online and not thinking about what I am missing.

I'd never even thought of binge watching anything until I met the ex.

We binge watched "Breaking Bad".

I've not done it since, though.

We call it binge watching but in actual fact it might take a full week to get through a series. We’ve just finished all 5 of the the Line of Duty series.

leeds22 Wed 18-Nov-20 12:47:07

We watch 2 episodes at a time but having trouble settling on anything. One episode of the latest Crown was enough. First two episodes of The Fall last night were underwhelming. May rewatch Grim, as that was binge worthy. We

Hooked on The Bridge and now Borgen on Netflix. Very grateful for Netflix as an escape from the formulaic and tedious, not to say irritating, stuff like The Voice and Strictly.
The current Celebrity programme in Wales is more interesting as the real personalities of the self absorbed celebs emerge under the strain of the conditions they are in.

I’m watching a couple of episodes every evening of Greenleaf on Netflix. It’s addictive, and the cliff-hangers at the end of each episode are very tempting, but I make myself resist.

Danma Wed 18-Nov-20 12:10:07

Oh indeed yes. Binge watching never makes me feel sick but binging on chocolate does wink

Applegran Wed 18-Nov-20 12:05:14

I find after an hour of looking at a screen I really have had enough - but we are watching one episode at a time of Queen's Gambit at the moment.

Lilyflower Wed 18-Nov-20 11:54:53

We don't watch one episode after another in one sitting but we will watch an episode a night. In fact we love that. We've just watched a fabulous Polish series on Netflix called 'The Crime' every night except for Sunday when we watched 'The Crown'.

Perhaps it is because the pandemic has stalled filming but there seems to be a complete desert of quality TV at the moment.

I never mean to binge watch but when I see the seconds counting down to the next episode and it gets to 2 seconds, I think I may as well, too late to switch it off anyway.
