I forgot Tea with Mussolini. With such a stellar cast it had to be brilliant!
The Quiet American (from the Graham Greene novel) was brilliant - I’d happily watch that again.
There are several that I thought brilliant but wouldn’t choose to see again, because they’re too sad or poignant - especially if true stories, e.g. Schindler’s List.
There was a brilliant TV docu-drama a couple of years ago, about Rudolf Nureyev and his ultimate defection. Did anyone else see it? The young actor they got to play RN was astonishing - so amazingly like him. And it certainly brought back the Cold War shivers familiar to anyone old enough to remember.
I’m very glad I recorded it - have re watched more than once.
I think it was Beeb but can’t be sure.
Henry Nowak…….an absolute tragedy.
'Lost generation’: why can’t young people get jobs? What should be done?
