I loved the Black Beauty tv series and remember galloping around the garden singing the theme tune! Also enjoyed Follyfoot, The Sullivans and The Cedar Tree.

Thank you anyway.

Yes it was Kate1949. Your mention of it made me have a look on YouTube and there it was in all its splendour. I loved that programme. I copied and pasted the link but bizarrely the clip seems to have vanished now.

Kate1949 Sun 10-Jan-21 19:13:25

Thank you Granny . The link wouldn't work on my phone but I assume it's was The Clampets theme smile

Crackerjack and Anne of Green Gables.

I also liked Blue Peter , when the made items out of junk.

And I'm singing The Clampets theme to be in my head! Bizarrely I remember all the words.

Ooo yes, Urmstongran I loved Mr Pastry and Miss Print.
Until I just Googled to make sure of her name, I always thought her name was Miss Prim.
I've learnt something today.

Sparklefizz Sun 10-Jan-21 18:51:26

I've been singing "Champion the Wonder Horse" in my head for the last hour. Sigh.

Gelisajams Sun 10-Jan-21 18:49:26

Does anyone remember a children’s serial called “The Barnstormers?”

Artaylar Sun 10-Jan-21 18:47:52

Banana Splits, Wacky Races, Catch the Pigeon, Josie and the Pussy Cats, Tomorrow's People, Scooby Doo, Captain Pugwash, Mary Mungo and Midge

Also aged around 7, I was absolutely nuts about Thunderbirds. There were 3 of the Tracy boys that I wanted to marry - Scott, Virgil and Alan. That their surname was the same as my Christian name was more problematic to me than the fact that they were wooden puppets

Grannynannywanny Sun 10-Jan-21 18:46:49

When I was little it was Andy Pandy and Bill and Ben.

Then I progressed to
Crackerjack
Lost in Space
I Dream of Jeanie
Beverley Hillbillies

High Chapperal. Anyone remember Blue? I was in love with him ? ?

I’ve googled and attached a photo!

Kate1949 Sun 10-Jan-21 18:39:01

We used to love Topo Gigio.

merlotgran Sun 10-Jan-21 18:36:25

Champion the Wonder Horse and Robert Horton in Wagon Train. [sigh]

Lucretzia Sun 10-Jan-21 18:35:40

Belle and Sebastian

Nanna58 Sun 10-Jan-21 18:32:46

Bill and Ben ,I loved them! Also the Woodentops. But being a Sarf East London child I always found understanding the terribly, terribly posh presenter a problem>!!!??

MayBee70 Sun 10-Jan-21 18:29:07

Pathfinders to Mars/Venus. I think a lot of children’s programmes were regional back then and it took me 40 years to find someone else who watched it. I watched A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood the other day and I think Fred Rogers influenced children’s programmes in the U.K., eg Playschool. The. Children of the New Forest was a favourite but only because I had a crush on Humphrey. I preferred Fury to Champion because he was darker and I like dark horses.

TwiceAsNice Sun 10-Jan-21 18:20:21

Champion the wonder horse
Later Bonanza

lemongrove Sun 10-Jan-21 18:17:12

Didn’t have tv until I was 12/13 but before that I managed to make friends with two girls who’s family did have a set ?
So popped into their houses as often as possible.
I remember liking all sorts of things ( almost anything) including Take Your Pick, and Sunday Night At The London Palladium. Also remember Mr Ed and Four Feather Falls.
When we did get a set I had to watch anything that my Mother wanted to watch ( an eclectic mix!)

Foxglove77 Sun 10-Jan-21 18:16:27

Oh gosh yes Champion the Wonder Horse, Skippy and Flipper!

LauraNorder Sun 10-Jan-21 18:09:02

Just come to me, I think it was called ‘My three sons’. I remember enjoying that.

LauraNorder Sun 10-Jan-21 18:05:21

There was a Brady bunch type of programme with Fred McMurray. Anyone know what I’m on about?

LauraNorder Sun 10-Jan-21 18:03:47

Back to the thread
My very first crush was Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates in Rawhide.

LauraNorder Sun 10-Jan-21 18:02:28

And seventy one year old me enjoys watching Spirit with my six year old granddaughter, we are equally enthralled.
