Is anyone else watching it? Looks interesting.

I really enjoyed it and stayed awake to watch all of it. I was waiting for Alice to say the next sarcastic thing- made me laugh but then I have an odd sense of humour.

I am finding this hard going and confusing. The Keeley Hawes character refers to Harry as her husband yet her daughter pointed out that they weren’t married. She also said there was no will but surely she would have some legal right to the house as they had been in a partnership for so long. She seemed to accept the fact that the house would belong to Harry’s parents yet then makes arrangements to bury him in the garden of the house they have said they will sell. I suppose all will be revealed eventually if I can be bothered to find out but as black comedies go it is very lacking, Whoever wrote it should watch a few Coen Brothers films to see how it’s done.

I am half way through episode 4. I am not really enjoying it but don't seem to be able to give up on it! blush

I watched it and it became clear it was a comedy! Obviously the mortuary man wouldn’t behave like that! Nor would the Joanna Lumley character behave like that.
I can’t be bothered watching any more though.

I liked it; it's supposed to be a dark comedy and I viewed it as light entertainment. Though I do agree it was far-fetched in places; why would the wife take great pains to dress like she was at a summer garden party to be interviewed by the police, and why did she act as though she had something to hide? I also found the mortuary scenes very strange. I thought the house was awful, and those stairs were lethal, I wonder if it is a real house or a stage set?

I've watched episode one of this and it seems a load of rubbish. Is it worth sticking with it?

Sparklefizz Tue 19-Jan-21 07:56:08

I think Eve was the actress's real name Calendargirl

Calendargirl Tue 19-Jan-21 07:53:00

No, that series was ‘Keeping Faith’.

Why did I think her name was Eve!

Calendargirl Tue 19-Jan-21 07:51:38

Perhaps it is a dark comedy, but seemed rather odd. Would a bereaved relative just be sent to ‘Viewing Room 2’ on their own? Would they not have checked if she was entitled to view a deceased person, or is anyone allowed to rock up and gawp at a corpse in that particular mortuary?

I’ve only watched Episode 1 so far, but think it will turn out a bit daft.

I didn’t like that series about the woman whose husband disappeared, someone likened this one to it. It was set in Wales, and she was always tossing her hair about and gazing into the middle distance. It got rave reviews, but passed me by. Something about ‘Eve’?

It's had good reviews. I watched for about 15 minutes and decided it was very odd and I didn't like or believe in the characters. I'm a bit fed up with Keeley Hawes too.

Shandy57 Mon 18-Jan-21 23:08:09

I've just finished watching all six episodes - somehow it just misses the mark.

GagaJo Mon 18-Jan-21 23:03:04

The stairs and the combination lock gave me the creeps, as did his parents just waltzing in unannounced. Something fishy about them appearing from upstairs when she arrived home. Also the mother (Lumley). Why is she so cold?

Gwyneth Mon 18-Jan-21 22:34:37

It’s meant to be a dark comedy hence the woolly hat and scarf etc. I certainly didn’t recognise Gemma Jones as the Mum.

Badgranma Mon 18-Jan-21 22:29:19

Nigeria Hager. Hahaha, I love predictive text........

Mapleleaf Mon 18-Jan-21 22:25:01

I don’t think I’ll watch any more episodes as I thought it was rather far fetched in parts - the stair case would not have passed health and safety regulations for a start, and the grieving wife would never have been spoken to in that manner by a mortuary attendant/doctor (I’m not sure what his role was, to be honest). Neither would he have put his woolly hat and scarf on the deceased, either! It’s these unrealistic details that irritate me.

Hetty58 Mon 18-Jan-21 22:20:20

I was so disappointed when I watched it. I thought it so cringingly silly.

The line up of actors looked promising - but such awkward roles. I won't bother with the rest.

merlotgran

I don't understand why, when a good TV actor becomes successful, they seem to be cast in just about everything. It happened with Sarah Lancashire, Nicola Walker and Sheridan Smith.

Keeley Hawes will soon be starring in 'It's a Sin.' A Russell T Davies drama about the AIDS crisis in the eighties.

You’re kidding.! So unfair on other actors too. It’s the same with presenters greg wallace everywhere you turn that Ryan/rylan person with the teeth....

Calendargirl Mon 18-Jan-21 22:05:53

Sheridan Smith seems to have scaled down a bit. Some dog training programme, and I think she fronts an advert for something, can’t remember what.

I know she had a baby though, so probably reduced her workload.

Yes me too Luca.

Lucca Mon 18-Jan-21 19:23:09

Is anyone else a bit sick of Keeley hawes ?

gillgran Mon 18-Jan-21 14:40:35

I watched last night, & intend to carry on over the next 6? weeks.
I do have a problem, after a week, to remember what happened the week before..!!
Lots of "secrets" coming out.!

Greyduster Mon 18-Jan-21 14:26:18

I will stick with this I think. I like Keeley Hawes, and also good to see Gemma Jones.

rockgran Mon 18-Jan-21 14:06:57

Spot on merlogran! grin
