I agree with CalendarGirl- sometimes it seems as though every other programme is fronted by a celebrity. Susan Calman in her mini bus, Robson Green doing Hadrian's Wall and the latest, Joanna Lumley. It's getting tedious.

They are all having a lovely time at our expense, aren't they! DH is a bit fed up of me saying 'is this our licence money they're spending or is it a commercial channel?'

However, I do enjoy a bit of armchair travelling in lockdown.
I have enjoyed re-visiting Michael Palin's journeys, Michael Portillo's train journeys and have recorded Adrian Dunbar.

I have family there too Missfoodlove around Listowel and Balybunion on my father's side and in Kilkenny and Dublin on my mother's. We've been many times and love it. Looking forward to the rest of Adrian's trip. I hope you get to the wedding.

Kate1949 I have a lot of family around Listowel, according to Billy our grandfathers had a famous fight after Listowel races, I think they still talk about it!

We are hopefully back in August for our Sons wedding in Dublin?

We loved it. We know a lot of the area quite well as my parents were from Southern Ireland. Adrian visited the town where my dad was born and brought up. Ireland is SO lovely. Looking forward to the rest of it.

Wasn’t it wonderful. We’re loving all the travel programmes on Ch5. We used to travel to Ireland every year but haven’t been back for 15 years or so. The Burren is one of my favourite places in the world. I used to love the way we’d drive round a corner and there would be a monastic settlement in front of us.

I used to own a pub near Ballyshannon, Co Donegal. One day I recognised a guy who had come into the bar for a quiet drink. It was Adrian Dunbar who had bought a property just a little up the road in the next village. He was a lovely guy who was happy to chat for a bit. I’ll be interested to see what he thinks of this part of Ireland.

Wow I didn't know about the surfing in 1948! The photography from the air of the rocks/cliffs are amazing.
In the 60s I remember more donkey & carts than cars. ?

I loved it, I was so delighted to see Listowel and John B’s bar.
Billy Keane is such a character.
He always has a story.
I hope we are back there this year enjoying the craic

He seemed to have a good appetite, not surprised, the food looked yummy!

Me too. Yes it's beautiful.
Reminds me of trips years ago and thinking how green the grass was guess the peat soil had something to do with it.
Been googling the cookery school at Ballymaloe too. Brought back many memories.

Get a bit fed up with celebrities jumping on the travel journey route, but not so with this one.

Gorgeous Adrian Dunbar (AKA Ted Hastings from Line Of Duty) showing us beautiful scenery and meeting interesting personalities from his homeland.

Could listen to his lilting Irish accent all day.
