Watched these, disappointed with both.
Motherland was really good the first series, it went off in the last one. Just seems a bit desperate now. AMM seems over the top.
Number 9 was rather daft.

Inside no 9 has always been very variable IMO. Some episodes were excellent, other puerile. I watched the first one of this new series and quite enjoyed the strangeness of it - the talking to the camera and the commentary etc.

TBO though there is so little worth watching on the telly at the moment that I will be seeking out each episode of both no 9 and Motherland to stave off boredom.

I presume you've all watched Mum? it has to be my favourite ever tbh

There was a thread about this a while ago. I was in the minority, finding Mum not the least bit funny, with the daft son and girlfriend, horrible in-laws, and the mum in question seemed rather drippy and just asking to be put upon.

It does have a serious element to it!

I wonder if any men find Motherland funny. I know my cousin does but his marriage broke up when his son was quite young and he seemed to look after him more than his ex wife did. In the first series I assumed Julia was separated from her husband. I was hoping that there might be another series and I think they’ve left it open for another series but I fear that that’s it. I can still watch repeats and find them funny, though.

Yes, my son thinks it’s brilliant, so do I. Such good acting and clever script.

Yes it was The Cafe. We loved it and still say ‘laters’. Phoebe Waller-Bridge just starting out.

And, Ellie Haddington is in both The Cafe and Motherland!
