So, fellow fans, what do we think of the lineup? A very mixed bunch, personally only know of five, I’m sure we will soon have our favourites. Can’t wait for the glitz and glamour to brighten the long dark nights looming?

S, I agree with you about last year. Bill and Oti were very good but Jeanette and partner (I've forgotten the young lad's name) were outstanding in every way.

Sara1954 Sun 03-Oct-21 16:28:20

I’m hoping it will be Greg tonight, he’s probably not the worst dancer, but he’s definitely the most difficult to like.
I don’t know why the BBC find it necessary to do those stories, of course it’s sad, very sad, but nothing to do with a dance competition.

it's not the worse dancer who goes out each week, Its the couple with the least public votes!...... they wouldn't need the public vote if it was the worse dancer would they. The judges would decide. Depends who each voter likes!

rafichagran Sun 03-Oct-21 18:01:25

I agree its white the public likes and who has the most following. I know I am in a minority but I like Greg, and I get the impression Karen loves working with him.
I also like Tilly and AJ.

rafichagran Sun 03-Oct-21 18:03:00

Who not white.

muse Sun 03-Oct-21 18:28:13

Listening to Kevin Clifton talk on It Takes Two last week, John has a really difficult task in swapping lead in a dance. That I see as a disadvantage and he's doing really well.

Difficult to say who will be in the bottom two but if Greg is there, I think the judges will vote him out.

TillyTrotter Sun 03-Oct-21 18:32:50

I think a man will go out tonight - maybe Greg, maybe Dan.
I like Dan - he has many talents - but he is not a natural dancer so to save his embarrassment I’d rather he go sooner than later.
Sorry if you are a Dan Walker fan.

Grannynannywanny Sun 03-Oct-21 18:50:47

I really hope it’s not Dan, I think he’s showing potential and will improve with each week. I enjoy that type of contestant more than someone who arrives on week 1 and is fabulous from the start.

Nina goes. Katie is saved by 2 judges and Shirley casts her vote for Nina.

Calendargirl Sun 03-Oct-21 19:58:12

Still thought Nina was stompy last week.

Casdon Sun 03-Oct-21 20:00:07

Wasn’t that singer’s outfit bizarre, I’ve never seen anything like it before!

lavenderzen Sun 03-Oct-21 20:01:17

Enjoyed it, loved the opening dance with the professionals. Glad Katie and Gorka are still staying. Lots more to come, can't wait.

Kali2 Sun 03-Oct-21 20:01:25

Right decision made.

Sara1954 Sun 03-Oct-21 20:04:09

I would have been happier to see Katie leave, but all our favourites are still there.
Cannot wait till next week.

gillgran Sun 03-Oct-21 20:05:52

Always a shame to see anyone voted out first.
It does seem to be of a personality vote, rather than for the dancing, especially in the early weeks.
I don't have any favourites yet, but I do have a spot spot for Neil Jones, but I'm sure that we will see him in the pro-dancer dance routines.

Sweetpeasue Sun 03-Oct-21 20:06:59

Yeah I'm OK with that. Always a little sad when the celeb has really thrown themselves into it and it suddenly ends for them. Difficult for the judges tonight as both seemed about same standard to me.
Movie night next week, I love that. Gregg gets to be James Bond. Mmm, sure he'll be in his element.

gillgran Sun 03-Oct-21 20:07:17

Yes, Casdon, that singer WAS VERY tall....!!!!

varian Sun 03-Oct-21 20:11:07

There does not seem to be the token older woman this year. I think Nadia is in here early fifties. Where are the sixty and seventy year olds?

Pittcity Sun 03-Oct-21 20:20:09

Was the tall singer hiding all the toilet rolls?

Gutted for Nina but I don't rate Neil's choreography.

TillyTrotter Sun 03-Oct-21 20:22:06

Nina was upset,
and I didn’t think she was the worst dancer but public votes were combined with points from last week’s and this week’s dances (and she was very stumpy last week).
Looking forward to Movie Night.

Calendargirl Sun 03-Oct-21 20:22:29

Where are the 60 and 70 year olds?

Probably sitting watching it on their sofas, if they’ve any sense!

Sparklefizz Sun 03-Oct-21 20:22:48

Was it just me or was the conversation with Claudia for each couple going through even more sickly and slushy than usual eg. Judy and Graziano? We've heard it so many times before - "I'm so proud of you", "You're the best partner ever", "I've made a friend for life", blah blah.

On a different note, there was a photo of Gordon Ramsey online today with his family, and all the children look like mini Gordons smile

TillyTrotter Sun 03-Oct-21 20:22:53

What a likeness to singer Griff’s dress Pittcity ?

gillgran Sun 03-Oct-21 20:30:00

Pittcity grin

Calendargirl Sun 03-Oct-21 20:40:54

I went and made our cocoa while Claudia was doing all her usual gushing, padding out with the winning couples.

It’s just not interesting, I’d rather see more pro dancing.
