So, fellow fans, what do we think of the lineup? A very mixed bunch, personally only know of five, I’m sure we will soon have our favourites. Can’t wait for the glitz and glamour to brighten the long dark nights looming?

I'm not watching it until one of the Mabuse sisters leaves the show; one sister wins two years running immediately her sister becomes a judge. Really? I stopped watching when they promoted the dreadful Aleisha Dixon, and didn't miss it.

That said, I so hope Greg Dyke does well; I always felt Emma Thompson emasculated him and squashed his development as an actor after Sense and Sensibility.

Totally agree! When they sacked darling Arlene Phillips I stopped tuning in (classy term) and why has it taken so long to utilise anyone massive talents experience personality and knowledge?! As for Mr.Wise? I remember him in the deliciously irreverent' The Riff Raff Element' with Trevor peacock Celia Imrie et Al ! He's not been allowed out to play since miss grabbed his assets.......

I'm glad Bruno is not in it.

Treetops05 Mon 20-Sept-21 14:33:50

I don't think I know any, so probably won't watch. Used to love Take 2 on BBC2 with Zoe, and was an avid fan of that but sadly cannot bear Ryland, so won't be watching that either

GrandmaMa Trisha. Janette is so good as a presenter with Gethin Jones on BBC Morning Live, each morning; bubbly, enthusiastic, a definite people-person and a Natural. She's been standing in for Kim Marsh for several weeks. I'm expecting her to be the same on Strictly Take two!

Oh Sparklefizz you hit the nail right on the head, it really IS a pantomime which is why so many multigenerational families just adore it. Us, DSs and DD and up to ten DGC really get a buzz out of it and no I don’t know hardly any of the pro’s yet let alone the so-called celebs but I am rooting for the deaf girl, so courageous and I bet she tries really hard, as will the sports people - THEY know how to work and train and are already pretty fit to start with, especially that swimmer chap.

My favourite is Adam Peaty and the lady with Giovanni. No idea who some of the others are. It is rumoured that Rylan's relationship broke down as he was seeing someone else and his partner found out.

Fashionista1 Mon 20-Sept-21 13:52:59

I love Strictly and look forward to it every year. But I don't really know anybody who is on it this year apart from the husband of Emma Thompson who appears to have a lot to say for himself. Hopefully it will be as spectacular feom next week as it always is regardless.

GrandmaTrisha

Aside from this…….what do others think about Janette doing Strictly it takes Two? She’s very bubbly but I’ve never regarded her as a presenter.
I wonder if Rylan will be back by then as well? He’s been missing from his radio show for months after splitting with his husband.

Is that why Rylan was missing. He’s back now though, I’ve seen him on something and I think he’s also back on his radio show. Didn’t know he’d split from his partner. Will he go back to being Rylan Clarke, or Neal now I wonder.

My initial favourite in the Strictly lineup is the chap off CBeebies. Never heard of him but he made me laugh with his moves.
I’m also curious to see if the gorgeous Giovanni will learn a bit of sign language as his partner is deaf.

MarjieM Mon 20-Sept-21 13:29:06

Who are they ? ?

Sara1954 Mon 20-Sept-21 12:42:37

I haven’t heard of many of them, but as many of you have already said, it doesn’t matter, we get to know them.
I love the professional dancers, and often forget to watch the celebs.

polly123 Mon 20-Sept-21 12:18:18

Hate it too, for lots of reasons mentioned so far.

Theoddbird Mon 20-Sept-21 12:12:57

I love Strictly. It brightens Saturday night. Not heard of many of them. We soon get to know their personalities though.

NannyG123 Mon 20-Sept-21 11:27:36

I love strictly. I don't know some of t he contestants. But that doesn't,matter to me. I get to know them over the series. My favourite bit is watching the professional dancers .

nipsmum Mon 20-Sept-21 11:24:45

Too many so called celebrities. I don't recognise most of them. Also too many changes in professional team too. Not in the least excited. I usually love it.

jaylucy Mon 20-Sept-21 11:23:31

I often wonder what the pro's think when they meet their celebrity partner if it's someone that they really can't stand, yet still have to claim that they are really, really pleased that they got that person!
Quite a mixture this year - there are a couple that are already annoying me, but will reserve judgment on them !

Parsley3 Mon 20-Sept-21 10:02:17

As a stecky person who can’t dance for toffee, I am fascinated by the dancing skills of the professionals on Strictly. I record it and whizz through the boring talking bits. I wonder how Adam Peaty and Sara Davies will do.

TwiceAsNice Sun 19-Sept-21 22:33:10

LOVE Strictly. We all watch it as a family, me 2 daughters, SIL, and granddaughters aged 12. We watch the launch show and then DD2 does a sheet with all their photos and we all predict how far they will get from last to first. It’s caused much hilarity previous years .

I hope the two guys do well and the McFly musician. He is the one who wrote the Christmasaurous book for children . Oti’s partner looks promising, she might do a hat trick!

Deedaa Sun 19-Sept-21 21:27:03

I think this year is looking good. Quite a few people I know and the others seem nice. Greg Wise - what's not to like?

Hellogirl1 Sun 19-Sept-21 21:20:04

It isn`t fake news, but the 2 dancers haven`t been named. Neither has the one who has tested positive.

varian Sun 19-Sept-21 19:04:23

Maybe this is fake news but it has been reported that two of the professional dancers have refused to be vaccinated.

If this is true it is utterly disgraceful. Unjabbed dancers would put everyone else in the show at risk.

These people are very well paid and so surely in the present circumstances, full vaccination should have been a contractual requirement?

No jab = no job.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 19-Sept-21 18:57:15

Aargh, no way!!! Can’t bear it!

gillgran Sun 19-Sept-21 18:56:31

Thank you MerylStreep, I think I get it now!! kittylester.
I'll try & keep up..confused

Dinahmo Sun 19-Sept-21 17:29:22

Really looking forward to the next weeks. I have about 5 favourites at the moment. Am pleased that Gianni and Oti are still dancing in the show.

kittylester Sun 19-Sept-21 17:22:43

And I still bear a grudge MerylStreep. grin

MerylStreep Sun 19-Sept-21 17:11:57

I can’t believe that was in 2013. There’s been a lot of water under the bridge since then ?
