Is back on Wednesday. Can’t wait!

LovelyLady Wed 18-Aug-21 22:53:03

Was looking forward to some decent ideas. Sadly not on tonight’s programme. LLB was over the top but his work was decent. Don’t think I’ll be watching again. ‘End of peer silly silly humour’ Unfortunately its for me.

MissAdventure Wed 18-Aug-21 22:50:20

I preferred the blue and pink makeover than the iron one.

MayBee70 Wed 18-Aug-21 22:19:24

Dread to think what’s going to happen with that swing seat when they have parties. The corrugated effect was interesting but only because I’ve discovered a Facebook page full of buildings made of corrugated iron in various stages of decomposition and the colours are beautiful.

BigBertha1 Wed 18-Aug-21 22:17:54

Truly terrible not watching any more f this tripe.

HannahLoisLuke Wed 18-Aug-21 22:10:35

Tacky, tacky, but I rather expected it would be. Disappointed though, I was hoping it might have grown up in the intervening years and actually become a proper makeover programme with some ideas I might like to copy. I’m not interested in Vegas, drag queens, garish colours, smutty innuendo. Added to that I really don’t like that woman Anna Richardson.
Anyway, sorry for the grump, at least there’s George Clarke now, showing proper conversions/makeovers.

I loved LLB's, for a party room its fab, loved the seat, the fire, the beautiful paintings I thought the colours were great, wasn't so keen on the other bedroom especially the 'garage door' & hair but it is better than it was. I think if you want something bland and innocuous, don't get a designer in, you're paying them to do something unusual & different

LondonMzFitz Wed 18-Aug-21 21:59:03

I loved the blues and greens in LLB's room, and I liked the furniture rearrangement in the other room (the designer *not in pyjamas was on a designers competition a few years ago, did a lovely apartment in Brighton, from memory;).

I think as a TV light entertainment programme it fills the hour, I guess they need the loopy stuff (swinging chair? hairy thing?) just to keep the nutsy element.

I'm no prude but what's with the date of birth / slut names? Stick in another five minutes of the design elements if they need to fill time.

I’m recovering by watching Landscape Artist of the Year.

Mollygo Wed 18-Aug-21 21:32:23

The hair!!

Bluebellwould Wed 18-Aug-21 21:30:44

It is just one huge pee take isn’t it? I think they trawled applications for the most stupid and gullible entrants they could find. It’s a shame because I would love to see genuine considered ideas and makeovers.

Shandy57 Wed 18-Aug-21 21:23:24

Well that was a waste of a tub of ice cream! Personally I wouldn't enjoy living with either - especially the hair!

Maybe70 when we moved in it was a rickety old fence and I was concerned for my children and cats. I contacted Network Rail and they came and put a very strong green metal fence up, the garden was completely enclosed and safe.

MissAdventure Wed 18-Aug-21 21:07:02

I'm onto George Clarke now.
I think it's more my thing these days.

May7 Wed 18-Aug-21 20:57:00

MissAdventure Wed 18-Aug-21 20:40:41

Kamiso Wed 18-Aug-21 20:15:29

Given up already! It all seemed really silly.

JaneJudge Wed 18-Aug-21 20:12:53

why is one of the designers in their pyjamas?
and which couple are Mum and daughter? confused

JaneJudge Wed 18-Aug-21 19:58:33

I'd love to live in a railway house with the steamies going past blush

MissAdventure Wed 18-Aug-21 19:23:29

I would absolutely love to live in somewhere a bit different.
That is, different like a train station or an old bus.
Not different as in Llewellyn Bowen type 'different'.

MayBee70 Wed 18-Aug-21 18:42:38

I’ve always rather wanted to live in an old railway station. There was a standout George Clarke programme the other year that featured a station near Morpeth. And there’s a tiny little railway house just off the A1 near Belford that’s changed hands recently that’s always fascinated me. I quite like the idea of trains whizzing past albeit realising that I could never have a cat.

www.bustle.com/entertainment/how-to-apply-for-channel-4-changing-rooms-reboot

Good luck. Let us know if you get accepted

MayBee70 Wed 18-Aug-21 18:36:39

What’s a Sophie Robinson makeoever? Is she doing a great interior design challenge type programme on another channel?

Squiffy Wed 18-Aug-21 18:34:21

It wasn’t just some of the homeowners who were distressed, I seem to recall that that’s what they did to half of the furniture! Beautiful natural or stained wood, which was then painted and ‘distressed’! ??
