Is back on Wednesday. Can’t wait!

I am also looking forward to it. I hope the makeovers will not be as whacky as some of the originals. I remember one homeowner calling her room a tart's boudoir!

Yes, I'm looking forward to it to ! Havn't seen LLB on tv for a while . Happy to see him back .

Sarnia Mon 16-Aug-21 19:30:31

I remember one poor couple asking for their newly laid wood floor not to be touched only to come back to find that L L-B had painted it in black and white squares like a giant chess board. Their looks spoke volumes.

Oh I used to love this programme!
I remember a woman breaking down in tears at what had been done.
I wonder if they'll be a bit more gentle this time around?

Joyfulnanna Mon 16-Aug-21 21:03:56

No Carol Smiley this time. Yes I'm looking forward to it too.

I feel a bit bad that I’m looking forward to seeing a programme to give me a distraction from all the horrible things happening in the world that will probably involve seeing people’s beloved homes destroyed. I must be a really really bad person…..

Are people purposely malicious and inconsiderate or they just don’t have taste? I have never seen this program. I like house decorating programs, maybe I should look it up on YouTube the way some of you are writing about it.

Ro60 Tue 17-Aug-21 08:24:40

mokryna have faith in us! It was a lovely programme. Occasionally it didn't work out - is all!
L LB did a memorable ( for me) room in yellow & black; an ideal haven't yet used but just might one day.
Roll on Wednesday ?

MerylStreep Tue 17-Aug-21 08:30:53

I remember one episode where handy Andy built some sort of shelf unit to display the woman’s collection of tea pots and the whole lot collapsed ?

MayBee70 Tue 17-Aug-21 12:19:04

I saw a programme on one of the arts channels where a very young LLB was talking about architecture and it was really interesting and informative. Perhaps Changing Rooms was the stat of the ritual humiliation programmes that morphed into BGT ( which I’ve never watched ) etc. I think this series will be different. I’ll still never understand the two day timescale in any of these programmes given that it takes longer than that for paint to dry! Either way I’m sure it will get me itching to get my paint brushes out again unfortunately.

Amberone Tue 17-Aug-21 13:25:50

I remember one dining room being turned into some sort of castle - and I remember swearing LLB would never enter my house grin

I have seen him on other programs where he isn't being so whacky and he can be both very informative and interesting . I think a lot of what he did was just for that programme.

MissAdventure Tue 17-Aug-21 13:57:06

With portraits of the owners in fancy golden frames? grin

Aepgirl Wed 18-Aug-21 11:17:33

I think they should revisit the homes that they ruined before, and restore them to their former ‘glory’. However, why would anyone let that team loose in their house?

ginny Wed 18-Aug-21 11:34:56

I agree some of the rooms were dreadful. However , if you apply to be in one of these programmes then you take your chance.
I’ll be watching tonight.

JaneJudge Wed 18-Aug-21 11:38:49

I can't wait either grin I wonder if they'll destroy anyone's prize pottery this time? or whether they'll just stick to destroying their decor

MerylStreep

I remember thinking at the time that the shelf would never stay up. I think the designers have these wacky ideas with no real idea of their practicality or if they are even buildable (not sure if that is a word). I think Handy Andy had to do as he was told!

I can understand some of the home owners being upset but they did sign up to be on the show

I have often wondered if, on some of the extreme ones, the BBC (or whoever it was) went back and put it back to something more acceptable to the home owner.

People wouldn't have watched if everything had been 'tastefully' done. It would have been a boring show.

JaneJudge Wed 18-Aug-21 11:49:17

I'd forgotten about Handy Andy grin

Babs758 Wed 18-Aug-21 12:00:23

I do like the Love it or List it programme and some of the makeovers and the banter between Kirsty and Phil! It has finally got my husband thinking about what we can do to improve our house!

Mollygo Wed 18-Aug-21 12:16:39

I remember the heartbreaking ones more than any others. Perhaps we could offer our thoughts about tonight’s episode.

Deedaa Wed 18-Aug-21 12:21:36

I picked up some really good ideas from Changing Rooms. It made me realise that decorating jobs didn't have to take weeks.

Alioop Wed 18-Aug-21 12:44:00

Loved that programme, but some of the rooms were horrendous, I would of sobbed. Thinking back I'm nearly sure they were to blame for my obsession with stencils, whole house was covered in them.

Frogs Wed 18-Aug-21 12:53:53

As a previous poster has said Why would anyone let that lot loose on their house. I can’t watch the programme, it’s so embarrassing. Do you think they pay compensation for the mess they create? ?

MayBee70 Wed 18-Aug-21 12:59:03

15 minutes of fame, I guess.
