Freda and the implants for Aled. Now she has kidnapped the little chap to stop the operation. She comes over as the most impossibly selfish woman and I have no sympathy for her. One storyline that has disappointed.

JaneJudge

they could have let him die in his coat, he must have been cold

grin grin

I used to play 'round here Bingo' - listening out for the phrase 'round here', which used to be in every episode in t'olden days. They still use it more than seems natural, but nowhere near as often as they used to.

Calendargirl Mon 25-Oct-21 20:40:52

Oh, I hope Natasha doesn’t die, but I think she might, sad

That little Sam acts the socks off everyone else.

I feel quite teary.

sodapop Mon 25-Oct-21 20:43:07

Same here Calendargirl Sam is a great little actor

Calendargirl Mon 25-Oct-21 20:56:27

Oh, poor Sam!

He will have to go and live with Nick and Leanne.

sodapop Mon 25-Oct-21 20:58:49

Poor Sam indeed, can Leanne cope though ?

NotTooOld Mon 25-Oct-21 22:06:08

He's lovely, that Sam. I might adopt him now he's mother-less, poor little chap.

JenniferEccles Mon 25-Oct-21 22:40:53

Sam is an absolute delight isn’t he?
His conversation is so much more interesting than most of the adults, and I’m not surprised he appears to be staying.

He will find a kindred spirit in Roy won’t he?

Charleygirl5 Mon 25-Oct-21 22:57:02

Thank goodness it was daytime when it was shown this evening. I could not have coped with two more episodes of not being able to see much. I thought it hilarious when Jenny or Johmmy threw the rope when they were in the water and with no problem the person at the other end picked it up.

Natasha died tonight- I believe there is to be a 3rd death but at present I cannot work out who that will be.

Calendargirl Tue 26-Oct-21 06:46:00

3rd death - Corey?

Sarnia Tue 26-Oct-21 09:01:34

I really enjoyed watching Sam and Natasha. Confident little actor. Debbie will be trying to get her story straight and wriggle out of any blame for the sinkhole, even though she was heavily involved with Ray Crosby's plan. Poor Roy, struggling with his conscience over his statement to the police and knowledge of Abi's gun. Will he have to do the right thing?

Elless Tue 26-Oct-21 09:24:11

Did anyone notice that Daisy was polishing the tables in the pub with Neutradol air freshener - you can see when she puts it on the bar while she is talking to Jenny gringrin

Namsnanny Tue 26-Oct-21 12:11:28

The props department will be in trouble Ellessgrin and the amount of black eye shadow under her eyes from 'crying' was a bit excessive. So the make up dept are up for a telling off to!

Doodledog I've never heard of that before, it sounds fun.

Sam certainly has my vote as well. Love watching him. Such a good little actor.

Aveline Tue 26-Oct-21 12:57:46

I don't know about Sam. He says every line with the same intonation. I think he's, unfortunately, a somewhat cartoonish Asperger's character. The long hair and owlish glasses add to it.
Yes he's cute but could very soon become irritating. Good luck Leanne.

Doodledog Tue 26-Oct-21 13:14:55

I agree, Aveline. I also wonder if the actor is neurodivergent in some way, and what I think about that if so.

Aveline Tue 26-Oct-21 14:10:21

I suspect he may well be neurodivergent and not sure about how I feel about that too
He wouldn't be acting on TV if he didn't want to be but, like all child actors, I'd worry about them being exploited.

Doodledog Tue 26-Oct-21 14:23:14

Yeah, he seems too young to be acting the part, and if he were, it's almost worse, as it suggests that there is only one way to 'do' Autism, or whatever.

OTOH, airbrushing the neurodivergent out of drama isn't realistic, so . . .

Plus, I like to overthink these things grin

lemsip Tue 26-Oct-21 14:38:14

instead of diagnosing this boy with something he doesn't have, why don't you just google him? he is the son of a film producer and has been in other shows. Remember he is acting!

Aveline Tue 26-Oct-21 14:40:01

Not diagnosing just not as keen on him as others seem to be.

Calendargirl Tue 26-Oct-21 16:20:06

I wasn’t keen on Sam when he was first in, he seemed a very precocious little chap, but rather like Ronnie, he has grown on me!

If only the rest of the Baileys would grow on me also!

JaneJudge Tue 26-Oct-21 16:29:52

Oh I think Sam is lovely smile

Doodledog Tue 26-Oct-21 16:30:06

No diagnosing here, either. Just wondering. And making conversation, as one does on a discussion board.

If we all googled everything instead of chatting about it, there would be no Gransnet, would there?

Calendargirl, he's grown on me, too; but I think he'd get a bit annoying after a while, (the character, that is - I realise that the actor is acting).

JaneJudge Tue 26-Oct-21 16:38:37

he'd get on your erves if you'd had a long day at work and bit of a headache and just wanted to eat a hot dog and slump on the sofa

NotTooOld Tue 26-Oct-21 16:43:28

JaneJudge grin Are you a teacher by any chance?

Franbern Tue 26-Oct-21 16:47:04

However, Sam (or the SW's) seem to be very far out with him saying that UK has one of the best Health Systems in the world, with one of the highest GDP spending. So totally wrong and totally untrue. Of the G7 UK is sixth in GDP spending on health, and comes a long way down virtually all tables on First World countries health service provision.

Scriptwriters here were just stating what they felt ought to be the case - without having done any research whatsoever on the facts.

Doodledog Tue 26-Oct-21 16:53:09

I thought that, Franbern. It seemed unnecessary to get that wrong, even though it was voiced by a child.
