Kev always look as if he needs a bloomin’ good wash and a haircut. He does look very weather-beaten too. Jack is very sweet, but very cringey - and his acting is horrendous.

Yes, Kev does look rough. Didn’t he have trouble with drink a few years back, in real life, which is why he wasn’t in for a while? Also some bother and had to go to court, can’t remember why.

But in character, with all his marriage, romance, affairs, children, work etc problems, no wonder he looks old.

Yes, Jack is an odd choice for the part. Not the greatest child actor by a long chalk, compared to Sam, Max, Hope.

I must admit I also watch the vintage coronation street on ITV 3 and although 20 odd years ago Kevin does seem rather weathered now! That said now some of the origional members have returned some do look to have aged. I'm not sure whether this is because we havent seen them regularly so notice the difference or whether cosmetic procedures are so normalised it's odd seeing an older person without them?

Didn't he marry Sally a couple of times? I had to laugh when Tyrone was sympathising with Tim having had a bath specially for the wedding. It's those little moments in Corrie that I enjoy.

He's soooo tanned and there seems to be purple patches under his eyes and on his nose.

BlueBelle I’m so sorry to hear that your grandchildren lost their daddy, it must have been a very difficult time for you all.

However, although the scenes that little ‘Sam’ took part in, including the scene where he spoke to his mother in the coffin, were wonderfully done, and yes, he’s a great actor, nonetheless let’s remember that this was done for entertainment. Whilst I agree that real children who lose a parent must be allowed to grieve, and that they may wish to see their parent’s body in order to say goodbye, this is not real, it’s entertainment. I cannot agree that using such a young child, however good an actor he is, in such scenes is desirable. Just for entertainment! No, it’s wrong in my opinion. An older teenager yes, a ten year old no! We cannot know how damaging this may, or may not, be to such a young child. It’s absolutely terrible when it happens in life, but to pretend, no!

It had me in tears, but I did worry about Sam playing that part.
Why do we have to have a serial killer on the loose? Last week I
think it reached a new low. How I would love to have the comedy and uplifting Coronation Street back.

It was an interesting issue for the Corrie writers to include. It was very well done but asking a lot of such a young child to do it.

No experience of child bereavement, but to me, if a mature and thoughtful boy such as Sam appears want to see his mum, I think he should.

Although a ‘tragic’ death, she wasn’t disfigured or anything, and it would help him to accept.

That was a tearjerker and no mistake. What a promising future Jude Riordan who plays Sam has in front of him. Poor Nick wrestling with whether to let Sam see his Mum or not and Corey finding that he isn't out of the woods yet.

Moving on...... does anyone believe that for one single moment the whole street didn't know about the sink hole? Even more absurd nonsense and yet, yes, I continue to watch. What is wrong with me?!! Strictly rhetorical!

My sons were given the choice of seeing Grandma when she died. The eight year old wanted to and the twelve year old chose to abstain.

When my grandchildren’s daddy died my daughter took advice from the children’s bereavement groups and their Advice was if they wanted to see him after he died they should be allowed to, they asked to and kissed him goodbye they also asked to go to the funeral…. It was heartbreaking but the advice was children often don’t feel it’s really happened and are looking for their parent or thinking he/she are still out there somewhere if they don’t have those final moments They were younger than Sam, bless them

That’s so sad BlueBelle. It must have been heartbreaking to see your little grandchildren endure that at such a tender age. It sounds like they have a lovely supportive Mum and Gran?

He looks very level headed and completely understanding (as himself Jude I mean) Children of 10 shouldn’t be ignorant of death in my opinion I think it was handled very well and completely in character I m sure that’s just as ‘Sam’ would have acted in such a situation.
I think it was very well done in contrast to the rest of the pantomime

Sam/Jude is a very good little actor, but I’m not sure that such a young child should have had to play such a difficult (dealing with the death of his mother) part.

He featured in a programme 4 or 5 years ago called The Secret Lives of 5 Year Olds. There are several clips from it on YouTube.

It was filmed in a nursery school setting where a group of 4-5 year olds, who didn’t previously know each other, were dropped off each day by their parents as part of a social experiment.

There were hidden cameras filming them throughout the day to observe their interactions. Child psychologists were monitoring their behaviour behind the scenes. Sam/Jude was quite a little character even at that age.

How much fun could be had diagnosing/wondering/conversing the trials and tribulations of the set malfunctions, or the camera angles, the off centre wigs, the disjointed script etc.

When the sinkhole first appeared in the Platts garden 2 or 3 years ago, did the scriptwriters then see a marvellous opportunity to exploit its appearance further down the line?! Why oh why would you leave a sinkhole in your garden? It’s blatently very dangerous. And don’t the local authorities bear some responsibility? I just wondered whether it was left (hardly the most attractive of garden features!!) so they could create a massive, far-fetched series of storylines of it now! This has to be the most bizarre set of scenarios ever. On another note, I also thought how crazy it was for Johnny to put his heavy, soaking wet jacket around Jenny’s shoulders to keep her “warm”. Totally, totally unbelievable. Do the actors have any say in the script? Utter drivel.
