I used to love watching it, would never miss it. I felt it started to go down hill when the character Gemma came in and she and a few others I found unbelievable really, haven’t watched it now for a good few years. I think it’s lost its way a bit.

Just dipped into this thread about what used to be my must TV programme. I stopped watching it nearly a yr ago and even now wonder if I should have stayed with it. After all, I've watched it all my life. I just couldn't stick with the silly story lines and what had become, mainly, unbelievable characters. I think I 'weaned' myself off it gradually and then found I didn't need to tune in anymore. It's quite freeing to watch something else or read. I could still probably idly tune in one day and see what's going on and pick up on the latest news. Never say never. But what a shame a much loved soap has turned into this.

Oh. I like Gemma! She's a daft version of some of the older characters.
Of course the grim old stories have changed to reflect modern life.
Last week's shows were an aberration. The silly nonsense at the funeral with that stupidly convicted argument and worst of all Freda. I could never understand Norris going off with her.
Bring back Blanche and Phyllis Pearce although Maureen Lipman is carrying on their tradition very well

Yes he did. I can’t remember whether it was an accident and then there was some story about Bernie and Ricks watch.

Maybe they are saving the “Gary murdered my Dad” story for Christmas. It’s bound to come out sooner or later. Will Corey ever get his comeuppance?

Corrie is letting Corey think he is in the clear and Jack's news that Corey has been training with the 1st team squad will mean that when he does get his just desserts, it will hurt him all the more. The new actor playing Max is very good. After a few episodes I would like to give him a clip around the ear. Daniel thinks he has turned a corner. I don't think so. Where Max is concerned David would do well to listen to Shona.

I wonder when poor Abbie will return. She might pay a visit to Corey’s football training session.

Looks like stormy waters ahead for Toyah and Imran. She already has her suspicions and he looks like he’s ready to crack.

Corey will get his just desserts it's a soap. Bad guys always do. Meanwhile David is meeting himself when he was young! He was such a brat himself.

Not always Avaline [grin[ Eric Pollard never got caught for killing his wife Elizabeth. I still remember him throwing the typewriter over the bridge into the water! Aaron never got caught for beating up the security guard. It was a very brutal attack as well. There are many more!! Good thing it is not real. lol

I think she is making the point that soap villains dont always get their comeuppance. Phil in Eastenders has killed at least 1 person that I know of.

Yes but Phil Mitchell has been beaten up umpteen times, been a cocaine addict, an alcoholic and had a liver transplant. He's suffered!!

Imran didn't go home on the night of Seb's murder verdict. Subsequent programmes have revealed he slept with someone and we all thought that was Sabeen, his ex-wife and Corey's defence lawyer at the trial. However, in last night's episode it becomes clear that Imran has slept with someone but not Sabeen. Who is it, then? Several ladies who wouldn't say 'No' but Aveline suggests a man. She may be right.
