Reading through the GN threads, sadly I think some of us are.

My daughter doesn’t follow Corrie but she was at mine the other night when it came on, after about ten minutes she said gosh is this a geriatric series I did defend it but she’s probably right there are a lot of very old people in it

Given how much time the scriptwriters have had off with the lockdowns putting an end to filming, I would have thought they would have come up with some riveting plots instead of all this tedium.

I wonder if the script writers are trying to show Audrey's gentle decline into dementia? Not paying attention when driving, complete over reaction to Rita changing hairdresser, bad tempered, inappropriate behaviour (hip flask in church) etc.. Who knows what they are up to ?

That’s what I thought, Curlywhirly. Soaps can be good at getting information about social issues to the audience, and Dementia is a big issue for a lot of people.

I beg to differ with the majority view on here - I've had a couple of friends who have seen their parents' driving deteriorate and are desperate for them to stop, but said parents (like Audrey) denied there was a problem. One (90+) finally stopped when he had an accident and hit a lamsppost, her ealised t could so easily be a person. No-one has a god-given right to drive, no matter what age they are...

If Audrey's eyesight test fails, that is going to open the floodgates to get us all off the road.

I agree with Humptydumpty. It is a big problem. Our 90 year old neighbour is plainly a danger to others but insists that she can see fine. Her driving indicates otherwise. We agonise over what we should do. Yes its her choice but how would she (and we feel) if she writes off a family? Just last year in Edinburgh a 90 year old lady ploughed off a busy road and hit a child in a push chair. He died. She was devastated of course but too late.
I think this is a very relevant story for the writers to pursue but stop being so cartoonish about Audrey suddenly sipping from a hip flask all the time.

Does anyone ever goo to The Speed Dahl restaurant , Jasmine seems to spend a lot of time chopping and stirring. But for who ? Why does she need zadeen as a chef for non show customers. ,

Just posted on the other thread. I thought tonight's episodes were totally boring. I wonder more and more why I keep watching. Must be habit. I wish Kevin would get some new clothes and Daniel needs to be more professional. A real teacher would not complain about one student (Max) to another (Summer). Summer must be heading for a downfall, she is far too sweet and nice. Probably won't get into Oxford or Ashe (spelling?) will get her pregnant or she will have an affair with Daniel and refuse to leave him to go to uni. Billy is awful (overacts) and as for the Baileys, well, none of them can act, especially James who looks like he is reading his lines, perhaps written in biro on his palms.

Corrie seems to be spiralling in a downward trend as far as scripts are concerned. I can’t ever remember during my 61 years of viewing being so disappointed or may I say bored by what it has to offer.

I agree about Daniel, NotTooOld, he shouldn’t have been discussing Max with Summer. Also think unless she gets brilliant A level results, her personal statement won’t get her into Oxford.

Always think Nurse Aggie looks to have no neck. Her head just seems to go straight on to her body.

Just an observation, not a criticism. I reserve that for her acting.

NottooOld, I agree about the Baileys being terrible actors. And the storylines are either too preposterous or too woke for me at the moment. I did love the Tyrone/Alina/Fizz affair, though, and keep watching Corrie for the sheer pleasure of watching Sally Carman (Abi) and David Neilson (Roy). Brilliant, the pair of them.

I thought it was just me. I have always watched CS but happy to miss it now.
Agree the stories are dull, Daniel is dull obviously has the best baby sitter in the world? The Bailey 's well? Fizz /Tyrone, what? Jenny and that awful Daisy good grief!
Sure they will pull it back soon.

Give them a break! There's been high drama recently with Sebs murder etc. More to come on that. Looks like Speed Dhal will be in hot water if they have to money launder. Meanwhile duller stories like the worthy one re that Bailey boy learning about coaching is a yawn and the mysterious onset of Audrey's alcoholism/shortsightedness are just pot boilers.
Abi will be back with s vengeance - literally. Also will Fizz take Tyrone back.
