Anyone else watch this Soap?
I used to watch it back in the 80;s when it fist began. Then had a few years when I was just too busy to see it.
In retirement, I have found it easy to watch. Perhaps, because I really do not really care about any of the characters.
Do love the fact that they have decided it is enough of a total fantasy not to even take it into a world with a Pandemic. Corona Virus has never affected the Neighbours world - and I think that is great.

I do feel rather concerned about baby Isla - poor little thing is NEVER actually put down anywhere at any time. Just carried around by one person or the other the whole time.

The so-called 'smile' they filmed last week could not have been a better example of a windgrin. Just wondering how long they will be carrying her everywhere.

I often wonder what the constant limping does to his hip joint as apparently there is nothing wrong with his leg in rl

I can’t remember Paul having a brother Glen !

I found the Americans use the words washroom/ restroom more than any other.

Watched it from the beginning. Love it - even all the stupid storylines.

I can remember, many years ago, that a young man turned up at the Robinson house and announced that he was Jim`s son that he`d never been told about, but I can`t for the life of me remember the storyline, it must be nearly 30 years ago.
Also, regarding young Harlow, the apple didn`t fall far from the tree, did it?

Anniebach

I can’t remember Paul having a brother Glen !

Neither can I Anniebach.

It's a bit too obsessed with sexual relationships at the minute.

Harlow is a little minx. Now we can await Glen having an affair
with Therese.

Sex,sex, sex, the only one not jumping into bed with anyone is
Sheila. - yet

I'm sure the storyline surrounding Glen will be revealed. One of Paul's past bad deeds apparently.
If you want to see young Stefan Dennis 'the pop singer' this will make you chuckle:
Don't It make You Feel Good

The actress who plays Therese is a niece of Judy Dench

Sheila had her turn with Clive, the doctor, till they fell out and he took up with Jane. I still remember the actress who plays Sheila in the part of Doreen in the original Prisoner Cell Block H years ago.

What about that new guy who got the Hotel job due to Harlow switching the CVs. A total nightmare! How could that even happen anyway? You would just say 'this is the wrong person'. Still, then there wouldn't be a story I suppose.

Anniebach Fri 19-Nov-21 09:06:28

Susan was in Prisoner too.

Is there one who is close to normal ? I can’t think of one

I don't watch it, but with these two making one last appearance I might have to tune in for the finale. Memories of watching it while nursing my children late 80s/90s.
If only they could bring back Bouncer! ?

Granmarderby10 Sun 01-May-22 19:28:30

And what about Joe Mangle?

Hellogirl1 Sun 01-May-22 22:49:46

Joe and Lynne Scully had a "thing" on the go, then he had to depart, can`t remember why, but was coming back, next thing we see is Lynne marrying Paul.
I didn`t know Scott and Charlene were coming back for a last hurrah.

Lots of story lines are going to have to be drawn to a close over then next few weeks. I will miss this, as is part of my teatime watching each day. I am already missing 'Holby City', now Neighbours is due to close.

With you all the way Franbern. This programme is my 20 minutes of down time after lunch. I started watching it when I was teaching because it brought up issues the kids argued about and it was a good way into deeper discussion. Devastated that Hendrix is ill. One of my favourites.
