For anyone who loves Victoria Wood ....

I've watched all of the series while working overseas and feeling homesick for specifically British humour. Fantastic.

I too have the Box set of Dinner ladies, fantastic series, such a amazing talent lost.
I too saw her show x3 times she was fantastic. I followed her right from the start of her career.
She has been the only celebrity I have ever shed tears over, it was like losing a friend.

That was the point of her humour though, which no one had managed to do until then.
She did the first mockumentary, coined the the phrase Am I Bothered, before Cathrine Tate, and quite a few other firsts I cant quite remember now.

Let's do it her biography had mixed reviews (mainly too long without revealing much about the woman herself). So I didnt read it myself.
But there is a new one coming out that might be more interesting.
She was a very private person by all accounts, and not very likeable (whatever that means?).

If you watch the programs about the filming of Dinner Ladies, she mostly worked hard and had no spare time for building friendships. Very professional.

I saw her live once. In the ladies during the interval a lady asked her friend if her husband, one of the huge minority of men, was enjoying the show. Her reply could have been penned by Victoria. “No. Too much Tampax and cellulite”.

Dinner ladies is was of my favourite programmes of all time.
Before the advent of i-player OH bought me the complete set of Dinner Ladies on DVD’s.
A joy to watch and an instant “pick-me-up”.
Housewife 49 was a commendable TV performance by Victoria.
I also saw her theatre show of Acorn Antiques.
Such a talent and we lost her too soon.

I keep wondering and hoping there is a Victoria Wood programme I’ve yet to find. Her live performances were amazing. Saw her twice. I wish I could have seen the stage show ‘Talent’ that she wrote and her and Julie Walters performed. Does anyone know how to get hold of the ITV production of it?

Some entertainers leave a huge gap when they are gone. She was one.
