The repair shop at Christmas

We have some terrible black humour laughs at some of the stuff that comes in in the most awful condition and expect miracles, which always happens.
And then there’s the belongings that were dearly loved by ( relative) but have clearly been forgotten by the living relatives.

I have been in touch with them to see if we can get an old German harmonium from the village church repaired.

This programme is fascinating, but it irritates me that they prod and prod at people to try and get them to cry. Really no need for that.

Oh The Repair Shop is lovely. We came to it late so have quite a few episodes to catch up with. As for Will....if I was 30, no 40 or maybe 50 years younger

There again, the stories of each family were all particularly tear inducing.

I reckon so, if last nights episode was typical of the usual programmes?
I was struck by how natural they all seemed.

Am I the only one who thinks this programme - as with so many others - is fake and contrived?

annodomini - ooooh yes, Will is LOVELY - the sort of lad you hope your granddaughters will bring to meet you one day......... So gentle and respectful, and handsome.

I've never really watched it before, and only saw snippets last night, but it really was lovely.
It didn't come across as at all staged, and they had the most lovely families on there.

Will Kirk is a wonderful craftsman - craftsperson. I'm too old to say I fancy him, but wish he was my grandson - no disrespect to my lovely grandsons!

I’d take my teddy he’s nearly 70 like me and has lost his growl, but I don’t think I’d like the Bear Ladied to re stuff him, my Dolly of the same age is in perfect condition as I never played with her ( I wasn’t a ‘Dolly loving ‘ child)

nothing in need of the repair shop here all my old things from Great grandparents are in lovely condition and my OH's Great Granny's cheese dish is in daily use .

For me, probably my dad's WW2 Army bike, or my grand-parents' Magic Lantern.

What's amazing is that it is painted gold.
I'd love to know what paint was used, because it is as good as when it was done, when I was a toddler.

I've not ever really watched it properly.
I can't seem to stay interested in things that I loved.

Just watching it now. Have watched a few programmes on iPlayer and always amazed at their achievements. I like the team as they aren’t pretentious but so so talented. I definitely recommend this programme.

I have a table here that my dad made out of welded metal, with a circular top he cut out of an old bus windscreen.

I argued hard and fast that I didnt want it when my mum died, but my daughter insisted it would go perfectly in here.
It does!
I love it now.
