Yes, great show and the best potter won. Beautiful, thoughtful work. Pity about the Irish presenter, I much preferred the stand-in - and what was that jacket Keith was wearing? Surely it was too tight for him? Rich always makes the best comments and I think he is inadvertently taking over the top spot from Keith and deservedly in my view.
Anyone know when the next series starts?

If you like that type of programme , then there is also teal Shop Masters.

I'm still using a mug I made in 1973. Love this and similar programmes like the Sewing Bee.
Thanks littleflo for the glass blowers info, I will watch it, we have glass blower John Ditchfield's workshop near us.

I have just watched the final and I will miss this lovely, gentle programme. AJ has just had the edge all through but Christine’s work brought a tear to my eye at times. Anna was just a joy. I am already looking forward to next year’s throw down.

Anyone notice tat Aj's preferred pronoun is "they". It took me a little while to pick it up when their mum was talking but got it in the end. Great that they won.

Yes I noticed that and do try to use preferred pronouns. I do wish that someone would think of another one though! It gets so confusing when 'they' is used for both plural and singular.

I am so glad AJ won, but all three could have taken the prize.

I love these sort of programmes, where people are passionate about their hobby. Generally speaking, they all seem such lovely people and supportive of each other.

I have just watched 2 series about glass blowers , Blown Away on Netflix . If any one is missing Pottery Throw Down, this is worth a look.

I watched the final this morning and thought AJ a worthy winner. I was pleased Christine won the second challenge though. Like others have said, the cameraderie and support to each other shone through. The Pottery Throw Down is such a gentle, enjoyable series. I'm sad it has finished.

One of my favourite programmes. I enjoyed doing pottery at evening classes.

I think AJ was a worthy winner certainly with her clean cut lines and thoughtful approach.

It was a close call because all 3 of the finalists were so talented and all of them deserved to win but I'm very pleased that young AJ was the winner. This year's team seemed to be particularly close and supportive of each other; its been a pleasure to watch.

I’ve only seen the final but after reading this thread I’m going to watch the whole series on catchup as one of my go to programmes when I need some time out from watching the news. The lady that stood in (no pun intended ) for the one who broke her leg ( I assume that’s what she did) was on Celebrity Mastermind the other week (she did really well on that !).

and the deep sadness

Such an enjoyable programme amidst the doom and gloom of the news from afar

All three are fabulous and worthy finalists.
A great series, I’m going to miss my Sunday fix.
I think the winner was the right choice although not much between them all.

LadyGracie Sun 06-Mar-22 22:25:29

All 3 did very well tonight. A very worthy winner.

Agree Cherrytree59 . Good choice for the challenge.

Great final ? No spoilers
Nice way to end a weekend.
Sad it's over.

I think AJs education in design shines through in their work. Always clean cut and well thought out.

I've just watched the semi final and Lucinda's was the weakest so she had to go. They are such a lovely, creative, supportive bunch that it will be difficult to pick a winner in my eyes. AJ or Christine for me.

Atqui

Isn’t it lovely that they all get on so well and support each other.

Agree☺️
I’ve loved AJ’s work through out. Hope she goes on to make ceramics a career choice. I see she’s studying design.

Sarnia Mon 28-Feb-22 10:06:31

Lucinda deserved to go as her urinal was the only one that leaked, never a good look. grin AJ is the most talented of the 3 finalists so will probably win. However, I have a soft spot for Anna. She is always so happy so I will be willing her on.

Yes I think AJ will win .

BlueBelle Sun 27-Feb-22 22:27:48

Siobhan really gets on my txxx she s got to be the most annoying presenter ever I thought AJ s would win tonight I thought it was the best and I think she will win the whole show
I like Christine but don’t think she ll win but she’s done really really well
