Hooray! I like this as a 2nd best to Strictly. Don't like Holly & Phil but have to tolerate them to enjoy the skating.

Charleygirl5 Mon 28-Mar-22 08:47:58

I am aware it was choreographed by Jayne and Chris but Kimberley spent more time being carried in the air than actually skating.

I think 10s were being handed out willy nilly too early in the programme so towards the end they became almost meaningless for superb skating.

I had a problem telling the professional from the celebrity they were so good.

Sparklefizz Mon 28-Mar-22 08:08:35

What superb skating! In reality there could have been 3 winners, but when it came to skating the Bolero, I agree Lily that Brendan's surpassed Regan's and I voted for him.

Kimberly's tango was so exciting to watch.

Overall it was a great show.

LilyoftheValley Sun 27-Mar-22 22:45:02

I really wanted Kimberly to do well. Brendan's Bolero easily surpassed Regan's. He was robbed!!

gillgran Sun 27-Mar-22 22:07:52

I've just watched on +1, I'm also a Strictly fan, so was a Brendan fan.
It was so close, the standard very high this year.

Great to see Jane & Chris performing again, will they ever stop?!!

I really enjoyed the whole series.

Sweetpeasue Sun 27-Mar-22 21:58:00

I agree, it was very close. I loved Kimberley's Tango but thought of the final 2 Brendan's Bolero was stunning. Regan a worthy winner though.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 27-Mar-22 21:47:57

Yes it was a close call and I was happy for either of the final 2 to have won. Congratulations to Regan.

JaneJudge Sun 27-Mar-22 21:41:02

I thought it was a very close call! smile they were all so good

Charleygirl5 Sun 27-Mar-22 21:35:07

I also was happy to see Regan win but being a Strictly fan I really wanted Brendan to win.

I thought Bez had improved a lot since he last wobbled on to the show.

There were a few non skaters at the start of the show but most had had previous dance experience which does help.

TillyTrotter Sun 27-Mar-22 21:00:00

Delighted to see Regan and Karina win,
but there could only have been a whisker between him and Brendan (who would also have been a worthy winner).
? ? ?

Grandmadinosaur Sun 27-Mar-22 20:02:11

Oops yes of course he is Tilly ?‍♂️

TillyTrotter Sun 27-Mar-22 20:01:06

Regan is a professional dancer too Grandmadinosaur.

vickymeldrew Sun 27-Mar-22 19:55:46

Unfortunately I cannot warm to this programme. The meaningless ‘10s’, and the canned music, together with the recorded clapping and cheering pretending to be an actual audience. The only people there are friends of the performers.
Strictly it is not ……

Grandmadinosaur Sun 27-Mar-22 19:47:54

I thought that too Tilly I like Regan but bring a Strictly fan I like Brendan too even if he does have dance experience.

TillyTrotter Sun 27-Mar-22 19:46:04

You can see the 3 Celebs have benefitted from having 2 weeks to practice since the last show. Splendid skating from all 3.
Would like to see Regan win.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 27-Mar-22 19:42:55

Anyone watching tonight? Great routines so far.

Sparklefizz Mon 14-Mar-22 11:04:26

I couldn't stand watching Bez and used to go and put the kettle on.

I suppose it depends on why you watch the programme. I watch it to be wowed by amazing skating routines firstly, but also to see how people improve, but found it frustrating when Bez and Sally stayed in but other better skaters were voted out.

LizzieDrip Mon 14-Mar-22 10:34:40

Oo, I don’t know! If every contestant was like Bez, it might be genuinely more entertaininggrin Seriously though, if every contestant started out like Bez, it would become clear who was improving the most as the programme developed. I suppose I’m looking at, what is essentially a light entertainment show, through the eyes of serious competition - need to stop don’t Iconfused

Nana3 Mon 14-Mar-22 10:30:28

I also agree with you Lizzie. Didn't Brendon fall, I was thinking he had blown his chances.

Sparklefizz Mon 14-Mar-22 10:19:59

I agree LizzieDrip, it is unfair..... but if every contestant was like Bez, no one would want to watch.

LizzieDrip Mon 14-Mar-22 09:00:37

I’m very disappointed with DOI. I don’t think it’s fair that they have trained dancers competing against complete novices. I know they say ‘oh skating is a different skill etc’. However, the novices have to learn two new skills - skating AND dancing, whereas the trained dancers only have to learn one - skating. The trained dancers’ performance element is bound to be more impressive! As soon as this new series started, I predicted that the final would be … Regan, Brendan & Kimberley; the 3 trained dancers. Guess who’s in the final!!! All a bit predictable and unfair, IMO. The contestants should be, either, all dancers or no dancers - a level playing field would present a much more interesting journey, and a better programme all round. Used to love DOI but gone completely off it now.

Fabulous show tonight. I loved seeing Dan Whiston in the opening routine too.
Right result tonight. I like Regan more and more, what a lovely young man.

gillgran Sun 13-Mar-22 21:09:38

Oh! I forgot that Phillip managed well, without Holly!

Sparklefizz Sun 13-Mar-22 21:05:26

What fantastic skating tonight. As Chris said, any one of them could be in the final. It really has been a terrific series with an extremely high standard of skating.

Anyone else watching?

gillgran Sun 13-Mar-22 21:04:08

Great to watch the semi-final tonight.
The professional skaters work hard & gave a super performance, I was really pleased to see Dan in that.
No real surprise at the two voted off, but didn't they all do well?

I look forward to the final in two weeks time.

Sweetpeasue Sun 06-Mar-22 21:44:59

Loved the show tonight. I feel Brendan is still a little above the others but all gave great entertaining performances. Oh wow, Lilah and Lewis!
