Very sad ‘Bat out of Hell’ was one of our car tunes too when the kids were young. RIP

I saw him once too, a great concert.
I hear he was a lovely man, however remember he sued a Meat Loaf tribute act!
However this won't stop me rocking out to his Bat out of Hell album, for years to come

I like to sing in the shower and two out of three ain't bad is one of my favorites.

I’m a great fan of Meatloaf and saw him once. An amazing memory. I used to be able to drive from my home to work with Bat out of Hell playing - exactly the same length of time as the song! My favourite though is You Took the Words Right Out of my mouth. Just love that song!,

Oh Mummer, us true rockers? Really? . I couldn't pretend to be a rocker in any way and loved his music. I was lucky enough to see him at an arena around 2008 and it was pure theatre and wonderful music, OH and I were so fortunate to be there. My children used to belt out his songs with me in the car and it didn't corrupt them at all because they didn't understand the lyrics then. Except for the little one asking 'can you really take words out of someone's mouth when you kiss them?' Led to an interesting conversation about semantics. Happy days!
Sounds like he chose how he lived and died, as far as anyone can, good for him.

Liked his music so much I went to see him and was so disappointed that he was so foul mouthed.
Can't take it away from him though, he was a marvellous singer back in the day.

Alan I heard yesterday during an interview on TV that the 'it' was referring to having an affair.

So sad,,,,loved his music !!! He 'helped' me win a quiz once ...I was the only person who knew the answer to the question 'Where will you never find a coupe de ville ?'....answer : lying at the bottom of a crackerjack box ! so many memories ...thankyou for the music ! RIP .....already rocking it up there ! ....could someone tell me what it was 'I won't do THAT' ?

Meat (which is how he was actually referred) lost lots of weight in the early 90s, he was in no way fat during the past two or three decades.
And I’m pretty certain that he did not have a rock n roll (ie drugs) lifestyle at all.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Meat Loaf although at the time and still at the thought having to ask 'Who was this guy walking through the cabin of a flight I was on, shaking hands and signing autographs.?

I love all kinds of music, always have, always will.I like some older stuff, some in-between and some modern- they're all great!??

Yes, saw this early yesterday in news emails, & again at 10pm news- bloody covid has a lot to answer for- as Cher said when she heard about meatloaf's death- there's been so many of the artistes died very recently- she's right- and in my own opinion it was the ones who had been so full of life and active for their age, that were still performing- even meatloaf looked liked he had lost a lot of weight recently (on the news) so not in as 'bad health' as we'd assume. I loved Meatloaf's music, it was a huge part of my young adult years in the 80's (17 onwards) RIP big man.?

He died of Covid after lots of publicly declaring he was antivax, anti-mask and hugged people who were ill with Covid. He said “if I die, I die, but I won’t be controlled”! I’m sad that he was stupid enough to kill himself with Covid, but I’m also angry that, as a public role model, he put others at risk with his foolishness. Now he has a Darwin Award!

My thoughts exactly. Anyone is at liberty to do what they want with their own health - but not to wilfully endanger others.
