The enjoyable programme 'A Portrait of Matt Monro, according to my TV magazine will be repeated on Talking Pictures TV (TPTV) on Friday at 6pm - 7.45pm.

Freeview 81, Freesat 306, Sky 328, Virgin 445.

I will sit back with a cup of tea and the knitting or whatever and enjoy it all over again.

Thanks for that information. I just adore Matt Munro and often play him on Alexa when I'm busy in the house with chores. He has such a beautiful, soft voice. He was taken far too young. His son is nowhere like him but he tries at least but never a substitute. Just away to clean my kitchen so will have some company with the man himself - thanks again for update.

I love hearing Matt Monro now. Used to have his picture on my bedroom wall alongside the Beatles in the early 60s! Thanks for the alert lovebeigecardigans, I watched it last time but will record it this time. Did anyone used to listen to Don Black on radio 2 11pm Sundays? I loved that show. Don survived covid last year, the nurses sang to him as he left hospital. He and Matt were great friends and Don wrote some of his beautiful lyrics. He played a song from Matt every week. I remember Don saying that as he, his wife and manager waited in a nearby hotel for news of Matt in the operating theatre, Softy as I Leave You, were playing. So sad.

DH and I love his voice and always preferred him to Frank Sinatra.
