Couldn't understand a word of it. Gave up after 15 minutes.

Urmstongran

Just finished watching it. Well I thought that was fucking brilliant!

Sorry. Sorry.
My unique sense of humour coming out. It’s part of me charm.
?

I’ve just watched episode one. Very dark and reminded me I’m relieved to be retired. Martin Freeman brilliant.
Thanks urmston for the heads up

Do you watch Ozark - f…..g great

I’m originally from Liverpool and you know what they say - you can take the girl out of Liverpool, etc. I thought the bad language was excessive and the accent was forced and exaggerated. I really like Martin Freeman, which is why I tuned in, but not for me I’m afraid.

Urmstongran Sat 29-Jan-22 22:00:02

You won’t be disappointed Calli if you do.

Iam64 ‘Ozark’ was very highly recommended by said daughter this afternoon. 8 episodes I believe.
Good job I don’t do the dusting here ...

One episode was enough for us. Not bothered about the language but it’s not my idea of entertainment as it’s too gritty.
Also couldn’t help wishing that Stephen Graham was in the lead role despite Martin Freeman doing a good job.

Well, we gave it another chance, and I’m so glad we did. We just weren’t in the right mood for it when we switched off after 20 minutes on the first viewing. But we’ve now seen episodes 1 and 2 and agree that it’s really good.

Enjoyed it yes, but found Carl Sweeneys hair ( wig ) very distracting.

Redhead56 Sun 30-Jan-22 11:20:58

I watched it and will again with my husband who hasn’t seen it yet. I started to watch Hit and Run on Netflix set mainly in Israel my brother recommended it.

Review in the Times today who really rate Martin Freeman’s acting and the series.

Doodle Sun 30-Jan-22 11:24:04

Nota gran the Times also mentioned many thought the role should go to Stephen Graham but in their opinion he would not have been better than Martin.

Urmstongran Sun 30-Jan-22 18:33:12

I’m puzzled y something.
I’d like to ask you all who watched it but I don’t want to ask too early and spoil anyone’s enjoyment.
I will leave it a day or so then ask ... with a SPOILER ALERT‼️
before my question.

I’ve decided to watch Munich this evening. I need a bit of light relief after episode 1 of the responder. I’ll toughen up by tomorrow

DiscoDancer1975 Mon 31-Jan-22 11:33:27

We watched half of the first episode, and gave up. It may have got better, but couldn’t stand the constant swearing, and aggressiveness, and there was nothing going on, except he was obviously a bent copper. I felt as though I’d been battered.

Martin Freeman is usually so good. Sorry Martin....not in this.

Luckylegs Mon 31-Jan-22 20:33:21

I’m watching it as it comes on TV each week so can I ask please don’t anyone ask anything about the plot until everyone has had a chance to watch it! Even if you put SPOILER ALERT!!! Why I should have to ask this defeats me. Am I the only person who doesn’t binge watch all the episodes but am just happy to wait for the weekly programme FGS?

dragonfly46 Mon 31-Jan-22 20:36:17

No I am the same as you Luckylegs.

Urmstongran Mon 31-Jan-22 20:36:20

I won’t ask my question Luckylegs until you give me the green light!
Come back on though, don’t forget, & tell me when it’s safe to do so!
?

Jaxjacky Mon 31-Jan-22 20:50:27

We watch weekly too Luckylegs (in about 8 minutes).
Never binge watched anything.

Luckylegs Mon 31-Jan-22 22:09:49

I’m watching tonight’s now and it’s so tense., I’m so nervous for him p, my stomach is tied in knots. I’m glad I’m not the only one watching it weekly. Thanks Urmstongran for not saying anything till it’s over but remember please, people record episodes and might not watch immediately!

silverlining48 Mon 31-Jan-22 22:12:16

I am watching weekly too lucky so hope there us no spoiler. Goodness it was tense tonight.

BlueBelle Mon 31-Jan-22 23:02:17

I ve watched it tonight and have really warmed to it I thought it was really good tonight and enjoyed the acting and the twists and turns
Luckylegs if I hadn’t watched it I wouldn’t go on a thread about it, surely that makes more sense than expecting everyone must be so tight lipped and not discuss the ups and downs as we go along

Callistemon21 Mon 31-Jan-22 23:04:20

I did watch tonight. but we had to put subtitles on

Luckylegs and others - don't wait until next week, I think it's being screened from Monday - Wednesday this week.

maddyone Mon 31-Jan-22 23:12:28

Just out of interest, do people still record things on television? It’s available on iPlayer so why would anyone record it?

silverlining48 Mon 31-Jan-22 23:12:35

We have the subtitles on too. Why do they always mumble. Whatever happened to Enunciation , grin

If it's an ITV programme then you can't zip through the adverts on catch-up but you can if it's recorded.

BlueBelle Mon 31-Jan-22 23:16:00

I don’t record things maddy but friends do because they don’t have iPads etc or they can see it better on the tv than a phone or iPad
