Seen The Drifters several times - never the same line up. Just Googled and there are several lots of Drifters and almost 40 members over the years. Still a good night out though.

I must have led a dissolute past. Well, almost.
Ps it was just one boyfriend throughout my school years, but, alas, Dear Reader, I did not marry him.
He two-timed me.

Certainly not in my area of Scotland! To be honest I had no idea they had existed.

For me, The Drifters were the best

Yes, loved that!
Oh, that took me back ?

Does anyone else remember when they had double seats in the back row in the cinema?

I love musicals so I thoroughly enjoyed it. For me, The Drifters were the best. Good movers and good voices.
I live in London but I have not seen a musical for ages- nobody I know enjoys watching them.

It was all a bit shouts screams for me turned off after ten minutes.

Just texted DS to get DGD to watch it on Iplayer. She's going to theatre to see the Disney musicals, but the Dreamgirls, School of Rock, Tina bits I thought she'd just enjoy the energy and audience participation.

The finale wasn't that impressive tonight- great singer, but just didn't have Tina's presence, or voice.

It was ok but I don't know why they didn't have a finale like the earlier half-time ensemble.

I think we prefer the old musical, the classics.

Indeedy! It was a good couple of years to live in London!

We also saw Calcutta, kali. A completely different different kettle of fish.

kittylester

It was only current stuff, Kali.

We saw Hair on honeymoon!

Made such an impression on me - the next one was very different 'Calcutta' ;)

and then another style of 'Musical' the Isle of Wight Festival!

The finale wasn't that impressive tonight- great singer, but just didn't have Tina's presence, or voice.

I didn't know much of it but enjoyed some of it

Callistemon21 Sat 29-Jan-22 20:52:10

I thought the earlier "finale" should have been the finale.

Watched 10 minutes then switched off....

Callistemon21 Sat 29-Jan-22 20:33:46

We're a bit behind as the Tesco shop arrived

Callistemon21 Sat 29-Jan-22 20:32:58

I'm not sure as we were eating!

Kissing' in the Back Row of the Movies!
We saw the Drifters in Majorca (probably reconstituted!)

Really enjoying it. Missed the first part, was HAIR featured, my first ever musical, 1970.

I'm watching it and I love Musicals, we often go to the West End BUT, all this is doing is making me know what I never want to see. My OH says it's helping us save money. Probably not what is the show's premise.

kittylester Sat 29-Jan-22 20:23:12

Wasn't it, callistemon and then The Drifters - the sound of my teens.

Callistemon21 Sat 29-Jan-22 19:53:53

What a tribute to Meatloaf!

Just brilliant!

Callistemon21 Sat 29-Jan-22 19:46:11

Is anyone else watching?

I know some posters dislike them intensely but I'm enjoying this.
It makes such a change from doom and gloom.

Although the DGC have grown out of Frozen (it's so passé now, Granny grin) I still like it!
