My computer has been out of sorts for a few weeks so I apologise if there is already a thread about this moving programme .
It was beautifully done , I hope it gets an award . I'm going to watch it again today

I agree it was wonderful. I spent most of it in tears. I later had to cheer myself up by watching Would I Lie to You.

It was truly humbling. When you hear what some of these old people endured it is difficult to comprehend. I have visited Auschwitz and Dachau and I believe these places need to maintained forever so that future generations can see and learn from them.
The portraits were wonderful.

Didn't see the programme but have seen the portraits and read their stories, heartbreaking but inspiring to learn the horrors they overcame and now spend what time they have left ensuring others don't forget. Hard to understand that there are still those who state this evil never happened!

wonderful gentle programme. Little by little, the stories emerged. I remember the awful scenes on tv from my childhood and we went to majdanek concentration camp in 1963, when I was 15. It affected all of us, me and my younger six siblings and my aunt uncle and our parents. No birds sang in there, none, from the very beginning of the railway tracks. A very heavy atmosphere and terrible sadness

It was very touching and the stories as harrowing as ever. Wonderful idea to commission the portraits for posterity.

Uplifting, I cried in places. The story of the little brother, when the man said no one else knows he existed, except the old portrait and now the older brother's portrait in his likeness.

I agree with everyone, it was a wonderful programme, as were all the portraits. I loved how they were all painted in such different styles. Kudos to Prince Charles for this.

Best thing I’ve seen in a long time. Very well crafted programme and the portraits themselves were stunning.
