Last episode on box sets….

The last episode of Breaking Bad is very satisfying, no worries there.
The final episode of The Sopranos totally divided fans, personally I loved it but can understand why others didn’t. And yes, it’s the best TV I’ve ever seen, bar none. The acting, writing, directing and producing, cinematography, everything is just outstanding. James Gandolfini’s performance throughout is beyond compare, he truly IS Tony Soprano.
My second favourite series ever is The West Wing. It does fade off towards the end but even then, it’s still very good. And the last episode is fine. All4 were streaming it, not sure if they still are. They stream a lot of excellent series, you should have a look.
Deadwood is another series I loved and was bitterly disappointed when they stopped making it, it could have clearly gone on for a lot longer.
I have the box-sets of all four of these, and have watched and re-watched them all, in some cases, several times.
Hopefully, other posters will recommend even more series.

Forgot to say, re. Game of Thrones, I love the books, really wish GRRMartin would get a move on and finish the series. I thought the TV ending was crap, really didn’t like what they did to several of the characters. And because of that, I’ve never bought the box-set.

I don't watch TV series from the US now as they either don't finish them properly, or cancel them and you are left with a cliffhanger ending. If it helps, on Netflix if it states Limited Series, it usually means there is a proper ending. Otherwise I Google the series name to find out if it has a proper ending or a final conclusion. I got so fed up wasting hours of my time only to be disappointed. Sadly, US dramas seem to be the worst for this.

I’ve got Deadwood on dvd. I started watching it but switched to something else. I’ll give it another go. Because a series doesn’t always have the go ahead to make another series they often just end a series with a cliff hanger. Which isn’t very satisfying if a new series isn’t commissioned. Ripper Street was cancelled by BBC at one point but was thankfully picked up by ( I think) Amazon. I’ve never rewatched GOT’s after season 8 and I used to watch each episode several times. They had a choice of endings I believe so must have lots of unused footage with which they could possibly remake season 8. I seem to struggle with watching anything that isn’t historical or fantasy as I just want to escape from reality for a while. I haven’t watched The Witcher. It seems to have a large following.

I think it’s totally wrong to go off onto other projects without finishing the books, especially with such a large fan base. I only dipped into the first book as I’m not a great reader these days but it seemed incredibly well written. I saw the whole series of books in a charity shop and for some reason didn’t buy them. Regret it now.

Maybee, you could get them from the library. I sometimes do this as you can read a whole book series for free. Saves you a fortune and helps the library. If we don't use them, we will lose them. I do appreciate some people perhaps don't live near their library. Im fortunate mine is within walking distance.
