Someone was asking about this programme a while ago - I see it’s on tonight.

Pins in eyes ..sorry,

Thanks for the reminder Tina49. As I binge-watched the last 3 episodes of Chloe the other night I can watch this tonight. My parents hailed from Yorkshire and I love visiting the area.
I didn't realise Jane McDonald had a 'star of fame' on the pavement in Wakefield, though I have been to the city centre. It was mentioned on the One Show this week promoting the programme.

I’m not intending to watch it Lucca - just noticed a while back that someone was asking when it was on smile

A programme about Yorkshire?

In the words of Brenda from Bristol,

‘Not anotherrrr one!’ ?

Lucca Sun 20-Feb-22 16:03:05

Programme about Yorkshire….fine.
Jane M….sorry no.

Gagagran Sun 20-Feb-22 16:55:15

Well I will watch it as I born in Holmfirth and lived there for a big part of my childhood and teenage years. I might do what my Mum used to do when Last of the Summer Wine was on. She liked to see the places and scenery but didn't like the dialogue so just turned the sound off!

I love Yorkshire, might tune in.

Hellogirl1 Sun 20-Feb-22 22:13:57

I watched it and enjoyed it, but I also like Jane MacDonald.

Yorkshire tea! Where do they grow that I wonder?
I stick with the old misquote,
From Hull ,Hell and Halifax,
May the good Lord preserve us.hmm

Yorkshire tea! Where do they grow that I wonder?
Are you suggesting it's not grown in Yorkshire, Yammy?
I never knew!

Q What's the best thing to come out of Yorkshire?
A The road to Lancashire

I'll duck for cover; that was told to me by a Lancastrian. Actually, I'd put that second, after Yorkshire Tea.

Don’t forget the Yorkshire Firefighters, Maw on BBC 2 tonight.

Maybe they’ll be called out to the Yorkshire Farm in the Yorkshire Dales to rescue a cat stuck up a tree spotted by the Yorkshire Shepherdess who made them all a quick cup of Yorkshire Tea before they headed off to the Yorkshire Vet so the cat could have a quick check up before being adopted by Jane McDonald.

Wow! I think there would be some complaints from certain parties if these comments were applied to Scotland or Wales. Why so negative ladies?

I agree with you ,though Northern English people can usually take it and give as good back, it's all said with tongue in cheek and most of us can answer any quip with another. You just have to listen to Geordie humour.
I'm not from Yorkshire and if I said what the common thing said about my Northern county is I would get the post taken down for obsenity. It has been said that the animals in question have two short front legs for climbing hills.

I've warmed to Jane a bit. I couldn't take to her at first. I think she is a good presenter and has been through the mill recently with the loss of her beloved fiance and her mum to whom she was very close.
