Whiter Shade of Pale

I agree Terri. The lyrics were total nonsense but the memories it brings when I hear it even now.

It's up there with Heard It Through The Grapevine with my 60s favourites.

Only 76 too. Sadly missed.

Air Air on

Yes definitely the anthem of the 60s, well my 60s at any rate. Every time I hear Whiter Shade of Pale I'm 13 again in the summer of '67 sometimes I'd love to be back there sad Such a mesmerising song, I think it was Bach inspired, or did they borrow, a touch of the Air The G String about it, whatever! I loved it and still do, even if like most haven't the foggiest what the lyrics were trying to convey sure none of them had either, pure Jabberwocky but wonderful all the same!

RIP Gary Brooker.

Whiter Shade of Pale is ‘our’ song. So sad to hear of his death.

A Whiter Shade of Pale. Definitely an anthem of the '60s.
