It doesn't matter what they call it, how it is formatted, who is on it, these bloody programmes are talent contests with a bit of sneering humiliation thrown in usually. Complete rubbish. IMO

Sorry my post caused confusion for some. I should have said the show referred to is Star struck. I agree Sheridan Smith is a fine actor and thought she was wasting her talent on such a show. The jellies referred to the fact that she looked as if her bosom was going to spill out of her dress at any time. I didn’t know she was having problems and wish her well.

JaneJudge

I had to look up what ubiquitous meant blush

And now you can show off using it !! FG….

Blossoming Sun 06-Mar-22 13:28:54

I saw an article this morning about Sheridan Smith getting ‘vile, nasty’ comments and abuse on social media, I didn’t know the context as I don’t watch TV, but I guess this show must be the one.

Still not a clue what this thread is about but it sounds like it could be the reason we don't watch terrestrial TV on a Saturday night anymore. smile

Exactly what I was thinking grin

Sheridan smith is ubiquitous though isn’t she

I haven’t watched this program as it sounds like so many others which are worse than sticking sharp objects in one’s eyes. IMHO of course.

It is about a program called starstruck. It is a bit like stars in their eyes crossed with Xfactor/Britains got talent but they have a panel who critique the soundalike singers and I imagine it is a Simon Cowell production.

I thought the three men who did John Legend should form a band! They were all fantastic

JaneJudge Sun 06-Mar-22 13:13:04

I thought Sheridan was fine confused

People are so critical of women. She has been really quite honest about her mental health struggles and I think she is quite vulnerable. A bit of kindness wouldn't go amiss

lemsip Sun 06-Mar-22 13:09:10

and more than his head even!

lemsip Sun 06-Mar-22 13:08:29

she'd have to turn more than his eye!

henetha Sun 06-Mar-22 10:56:52

One of them did sound a bit like Kylie. Just a bit. grin

FannyCornforth Sun 06-Mar-22 10:13:58

I don’t think that there’s much chance of them looking like Kylie

FannyCornforth Sun 06-Mar-22 10:13:15

Starstruck on ITV

FannyCornforth Sun 06-Mar-22 10:11:13

Oh I know what it is! A new singing tv thing with the ubiquitous Sheridan Smith and Adam thingy from Queen.
Not sure about the jellies though…

lavendermine Sun 06-Mar-22 10:10:33

Yes, I couldn't agree more gransruleok. She is an embarassment.

FannyCornforth Sun 06-Mar-22 10:09:25

Intriguing!

rafichagran Sun 06-Mar-22 10:09:24

Sorry, I dont know what you are referring too.

Urmstongran Sun 06-Mar-22 09:53:58

Sorry, I haven’t an igloo what you’re referring to!

gransruleok Sun 06-Mar-22 09:51:48

I thought the jellies were going to pop out.. Does Sheridan think she can turn Adam’s head? What a waste of her talent appearing on this awful show. As for the Kylie disaster; they sang Kylies songs, they certainly didn’t look or sound like her. Where’s the off switch?
