I watched it last night but if you want the perfect film for International Women's Day this must be it. It remembers the feminist protests at the 1970 Miss World contest. Brings back memories of simpler times when we believed the world would change. Keeley Hawes as Julia Morley (Eric Morley's wife) and Lesley Manville as Bob Hope's wife gave great supporting performances. Nice to see the real women at the end.

I loved it too!
The final scenes were a lovely touch (a bit like the end of Hidden Figures which celebrates not only women, but black women)
Worth watching if you haven’t seen it.

Hello trisher I like the sound of this- what channel was it on?

Will definitely watch it, was going to last night, but watched Ipcress File instead, have a feeling this will be far more up my street. I see it's on BBC I Player.

It was on bbc2 and I really enjoyed it. Realised that was when my eyes were opened and I started to notice all the inequalities there were .
The end and the following programme where the actual contestants amd the protesters were interviewed then and now was very good. It was interesting to see that the beauty contenders are still physically beautiful 52 years later.
Recommended it to my daughter, for all our daughters and granddaughters, sons amd brothers too because sexism was alive then, and despite improvements, still is now.

Turned this on just as the protests were starting. really enjoyed it and the following programme. The latter brought home how, in the days before mobile phones and social media, lots of small groups ended up staging such a big demonstration.

I loved the beginning and the end but fell asleep in the middle.
What I saw of it was great.
