I currently have a sky package but due to the rising cost of everything I need to look for a cheaper alternative, I don’t have a Ariel and I don’t want to lose the bbc or itv. Any suggestions?

I pay for Netflix, Amazon Prime and The Disney Channel which, along with Freeview, gives me everything I need and much cheaper than Sky.

If you go back to sky and tell them that you are leaving, they may give you an offer you can't refuse!

If you visit the Money Saving Expert website there will be a section on all the options and which is the cheapest.

I have freesat instead of Sky TV. I bought a box years ago to replace Sky after falling out with them over their charges. The only outlay you have is buying the box, there are several to choose from at different prices. I chose a recordable one. They come with the catch up services and Netflix built in. Of course you have to subscribe to Netflix. I pay for Disney+ (mostly for visiting grandchildren) and Amazon prime video.
The only thing I have missed is Eurosport, but I'm over that now. ?

I've got Freesat which gives me a huge amount of programmes for nothing. And I pay £5.99 per month for Netflix.

henetha and Grandmabatty. What provider do you use for your Broadband? We could easily manage with Freeview, Netflix and Amazon Prime but there is the added expense of Internet to get Netflix and Amazon Prime. When we contacted Virgin it was more expensive to have just Broadband than to have the tv and broadband package.

Hi Jane43. I'm with BT for broadband. It's complicated isn't it. All these packages.

Grandmabatty Mon 14-Mar-22 11:30:57

I have BT for broadband.

Thank you both. Our younger son has BT for Broadband and has had a lot of problems with it but of course it varies from area to area and person to,person. We are locked into a Virgin package at the moment but when it finishes we will do some research into alternatives.
