Soap scriptwriters must think that loss adjusters are idiots . How many businesses have been torched in Eastenders, as well as the Corrie ones?

I think Stephen is claiming that because he didn't make the meeting he had lost the business - maybe he was pitching for a contract or something? I'm not sure what his business is. I have a vague recollection that it is something to do with fashion, but that could well be wrong.

I can't imagine, if Stephen is the high-flying business executive he's made out to be, that the loss of a £25,000 contract would have a huge negative impact.

Unless, this storyline is to show that his business is failing, and he's come to tap his mum for some money.

Be interesting to see the dynamic when Jodie Prenger turns up as George's sister. Hope they don't make it too farcical

So from yesterday’s episode, Debbie’s hatching an insurance scam involving Ryan staging a break-in at the bistro. Exactly how much cash do they leave on the premises if this is expected to raise enough to pay off Ed and possibly Beth, pull Debbie back from the brink of bankruptcy and set Ryan up for a new life in the sun?

That evening with the Psychic must have been more profitable than it looked. Though to be fair, the Platts all seem to eat there more often than they do at home - minus children, who must see to their own teas.

I was intrigued by the cheque Debbie was handing over to Ed, before being snatched by Awful Aggie.

She quickly altered the amount in a trice, and gave it back.

I hope she carefully signed the alteration, as if it was for the amounts they had been talking about previously, the bank would probably have rejected it if it looked at all ‘iffy’.

Ed’s poorly burnt hands have recovered swiftly. A few days ago he was heavily bandaged, now he is back to swaggering around as though it had never happened, and his hands look fine.

I’m fed up with the Stu storyline before it’s even got going.

I agree. Her many voice is so irritating. No idea how she attracts so many men. Meanwhile Aliya is really beautiful and a good actress.

How old is Stu meant to be?

He’s been in the navy, worked in restaurants, married with a child, had an affair, maybe murdered someone or not, been in prison for 27 years, been on the streets, perhaps done a bit of busking as he fancies himself as a singer and has a guitar.

The chap’s been around. I estimate he must be 60ish.

Don’t know what he sees in Yasmeen, as she always looks so miserable and crochety.

Unless he has his eye on Speed Dahl.

I would imagine Stu is late 50s early 60s and he could easily have done those things in that amount of life been in the navy from school say 10 years been married and had the affair during that 10years period and 27 years in prison that would only make him late 40 s early 50 s been on the street since Right that’s sorted He’s rather lovely and Yasmeen is a husk of a woman who can’t act and has a raucous voice he could do much better
I don’t like George’s sister but I think George is a bit of a sweetie If Sean flounces get any bigger he ll fall over
Jenny’s boyfriend whose name I ve never bothered to retain is also a dire actor but I do like Daisy she’s funny

Oh that made me laugh Doodledog. It’s true though, and I’ve had the same thought. I’ve also wondered about Ken Barlow’s house which has quite a lot of occupants. I’m not sure where Carla and Peter live, is it Ken’s house?

Not to mention David Platt’s house which has three bedrooms and occupants are David, Shona, Lily, Max, and Gail. Is the fourth bedroom on the ground floor still operative? Nobody ever goes into it, the door used to be off the kitchen, which now appears to be kitchen cupboards. Where does Gail sleep? And where did Audrey sleep when she stayed over?

I din't know what happened to the garage conversion - maybe it fell into the sinkhole?

Carla used to live in Victoria Court, and I assumed that Peter had moved in with her there? The Barlows used to have Ken, Deidre, Blanche? Amy, Peter and Tracey all in there at the same time. After Blanche died Ken's assorted children and grandchildren have stayed there too. It's no wonder they are always falling out with one another.

The houses have always been elastic in Soapland, but Eileen is taking it to a whole new level.

Has Glenda actually moved in to Eileen’s or is she just visiting?

Surely she could stay at George’s own home? He still has one doesn’t he?

If it were me, I would much prefer being there to queuing up for the bathroom in the morning at Eileen’s

Eileen doesn’t seem to have much to say nowadays, and I don’t know when any housework, washing, ironing gets done, as they all seem to just sit around all the time.

Does she ever go in to work either? Who is on the switchboard at Street Cars? Tim and Steve don’t seem to do much there either.

I thought that as well Calendargirl Eileen has very little to say for herself lately and seems to have lost some of her 'spark'

Is Yasmeen suffering from PTSD following her problems with Geoff. This would explain why she is behaving so strangely.

So Yasmeen has embraced yet another ‘cause’.

She started the Community Centre in memory of her son, then it was the food waste thing a few days ago, now another one for abused women.

All worthy causes, but when does she ever do any of her proper job? Speed Dahl must run itself. No Stu, Aliya off on some marketing event, Zeedan just back from goodness knows where, Ryan flounced recently….
