Yasmeen's acting was dreadful on Wednesday completely unbelievable

Calendargirl Fri 19-Aug-22 09:20:50

Clawdy

I'm getting confused about the hairdressing business - does Audrey own the one David works at too ?

Yes.

honeyrose Fri 19-Aug-22 11:02:27

I agree that Yasmeen’s acting is APPALLING! So one dimensional. The only time I truly “emphasised” with her character was when the despicable Geoff made her wear that tarty red dress he’d bought, in an effort to glamorise her. She did really look really pathetic and awkward then and I felt for her (in her role of course). Oh dear, I think I need to get out more, recalling a scene from a few years ago!
I thought the afternoon tea with Audrey, Rita, Ken and Roy (briefly gatecrashed by Claudia) was very touching and heartfelt. Even Claudia seemed more genuine than normal. But Audrey reopening the salon at 82 - I think that is doomed to failure (especially if Stephen gets his mitts on Audrey’s money!).

Kandinsky Fri 19-Aug-22 12:44:15

It’s all ridiculous really, but I still love it. ( plus watching it helps me keep track of the days )
Running a hairdresser business at 82?
Guess that’s no so far fetched - Joe Biden’s running American & he’s 79.
& yes - The actor playing Yasmeen must have something on the writers because no way is she a good enough actress to warrant all the major storylines she keeps getting.

BlueBelle Fri 19-Aug-22 19:34:17

Saw this write up about Yasmeen in her role as an abuse victim I think these were watching a different show to me

Coronation Street actress Shelley King has paid tribute to her incredible partner Trilby James for her support while working on the abuse storyline. The TV star, who continues to amazingly portray abuse victim Yasmeen Nazir on the soap opera, said that Trilby was there for her on the days where she didn't want to talk and when she was as tired.

Aveline Fri 19-Aug-22 20:39:34

Trilby must have earplugs. How else to cope with that whiny voice.

Doodledog Fri 19-Aug-22 22:09:18

I would have thought that most partners of actors would 'be there for them' when they are tired, just like the rest of us are there for ours. It's hardly out of the ordinary grin.

(amazing portrayal wouldn't be how I'd describe it though!)

I'm sick of Summer, too. I'm not sure that Corrie is good for my blood pressure. . .

Calendargirl Sat 20-Aug-22 07:19:55

I have no experience of diabetes, thankfully, but all the missing her insulin then being ill, promising everyone that she won’t do it again……

I realise it’s her worrying about weight gain and feeling that her whole young life is tied up with being diabetic, but it’s very repetitive. And the three ‘dads’, bobbing about, all with different opinions and advice, don’t help.

Would any reputable company let Max and his camera, with his video history, loose in a knicker factory?

And talk about Yasmeen’s voice, Carla’s squawk is almost as bad. Like sandpaper.

Doodledog Sat 20-Aug-22 07:30:19

For an intelligent girl she is being very stupid about the insulin. I realise that phobias are not rational, but messing about with diabetes is life-threatening and things like the trick with the monitors might give ideas to others.

It looks like Stephen is going to swindle the factory too, the bounder. He’ll give himself away if he doesn’t stop making that pantomime-villain face whenever he’s in close-up grin. Carla doesn’t seem to trust him - has he shown her his true colours yet?

Beechnut Sat 20-Aug-22 11:14:44

Summer has trotted out the same stuff for so long she no longer has to learn lines. ?
Who is Billy with these day’s, is it Paul or Eileen’s son?

pinkprincess Sat 20-Aug-22 19:47:29

Calendergirl Re.Carla's voice, to me she s always ''Carla the snarler''

pinkprincess Sat 20-Aug-22 19:48:06

I meant Carla's voice.

Aveline Sun 21-Aug-22 11:21:47

I still don't understand how Carla is somehow the boss at Underworld again. There was a buy out by the staff and Sarah Lou was the manager. Why is she now subordinate to Carla or 'Calla Balla' as she growled into the phone on Friday night.

Grannynannywanny Sun 21-Aug-22 13:14:57

Calla Balla ?

Serendipity22 Wed 24-Aug-22 09:19:46

I couldn't quite 'get' Daisy's character in Corrie, in fact still muddled up.

Anyone with the same muddled up mind?

I have to add that I think she is a brilliant actress and I like her, just dont know where she fits in !!!!

confusedconfusedconfused

Doodledog Wed 24-Aug-22 09:25:48

She was fostered by Jennie as a child, I think.

Aveline Wed 24-Aug-22 09:55:28

A step daughter?

Lucca Wed 24-Aug-22 09:56:03

Has stephen got a really awful toupee ?

Calendargirl Wed 24-Aug-22 11:05:10

Yes, Daisy is Jenny’s step daughter I believe.

Don’t know about a toupee, but Stephen has a really ‘seedy’ look to me.

Also looks old and raddled. He hasn’t aged well, think he was quite attractive when he popped up years ago.

Rosina Wed 24-Aug-22 11:48:33

Yasmeen utters the immortal phrases 'I want you to go', 'I want you to leave' at least twice an episode at the moment. Sadly she really is beginning to grate with her hunched demeanour and whining voice. This particular storyline has gone on far too long, and Stu's patience in trying to win her round is remarkable - why is he bothering?

Kim19 Wed 24-Aug-22 11:54:03

Yes, Yasmeen peaked with the Jeff storyline. Wonderful acting then. Quite, quite awful now.

Grannynannywanny Wed 24-Aug-22 12:45:01

How convenient that the solicitor they wanted to speak to about Geoff’s past works just round the corner and he was willing to do a house call that very day on his way home ? At least they didn’t arrange to meet in Roy’s cafe and discuss confidential business loud enough for all to hear.

I’m at the stage now with this drawn out silly storyline I’m hoping that Geoff is a serial killer!

Clawdy Wed 24-Aug-22 19:29:00

Think you mean Stu, not Geoff!

Grannynannywanny Wed 24-Aug-22 19:36:26

You’re right Clawdy! I can’t keep up with Yasmeen’s love life ?

Calendargirl Wed 24-Aug-22 20:12:02

What on earth will Stephen consult on???

Surely the dreadful Freda hasn’t come specially to babysit the quads? Let’s pray she isn’t coming back on the street.

Aagh!
