New thread required, old one full.

I don't think so. I think that living off immoral earnings is the crime, not soliciting itself, but I'm no expert grin. In any case, she wasn't charged or convicted was she?

I suppose she'd be in a probationary period though, and it would be an untenable position for the school to be in, so she'd have to go. It's a shame, though, as it must be very difficult for people with less than conventional pasts to break free of them and start again.

On another note, what do we think of Max? He's a 'troubled' wee soul, isn't he?

He did seem to be genuinely sorry about spiking Amy's drink, but his track record of generally awful behaviour makes me wonder how likely he is to reform. I can't remember whether he has a record or whether he's managed to get away with it until now.

Loved the scenes last night with Jacob and Simon saving Max. Jacob turning out to be a lovely lad!. My daughter told me today that Spider was coming back to Corrie .. remember him? Wasn't he a love interest of Toyah? Sense another storyline coming as we know the actor who plays Imran is leaving.

Doodledog Sat 30-Apr-22 18:48:41

Yes, Spider was Toyah's first love. His real name is Geoffrey, and he is Emily's nephew/great nephew.

He was an anarchist and environmentalist, and left the street to go travelling in India when he and Toyah grew apart.

It would be good to have him back again, particularly to see what has become of his beliefs in middle age.

HurdyGurdy Sun 01-May-22 21:14:30

I suspect Spider's return will be to inform the Street of Emily's death. This could, of course, be done by telephone/letter etc, and there is no house to sell/dispose of, so really, no reason for him to return.

Other than to rekindle his relationship with Toyah who will be on the rebound from Imran.

I suppose he will have other connections in the Street from when he was living there. Kevin, for one, and Rita. Was he around when Dev joined?

Is there anyone else?

Where will he be staying, I wonder? And how long before he's working at the factory - because everyone who ever needs a job ends up either in the factory, or Dev's kebab shop (with a perfectly fitting uniform instantly available)

Ohhhhh, unless he has now trained as a solicitor, and will take over the practice of Adam and Imran grin

Did he come back for Toyah? I seem to remember they were off to open/run a juice bar in London at one point.

Doodledog Sun 01-May-22 23:46:55

I can’t remember a juice bar, but I have a vague recollection of Emily being surprised by a visit from him.

He could take over the law firm that never has any clients other than the immediate neighbours, or he could set up as a probation officer for all the cast members who’ve gone off the rails.

I wonder where the “nurse Aggie on the gastro ward with the tyrant/ charming consultant” storyline is going?

Calendargirl Mon 02-May-22 07:08:49

I thought Nurse Aggie was about to embark on an affair maybe, shock but looking at next week’s blurb on my tv page, think the consultant is not so charming as first appeared.

Where is Ronnie, btw, haven’t spotted him lurking in the Bistro lately, in his too-tight shirt?

honeyrose Mon 02-May-22 08:53:34

I too wonder where the Nurse Aggie storyline is going. She’s joined a new department at Wethy General ( is that what it’s called?) so this is bound to lead to more of her scowling expressions. She’s the Nurse Platt of her generation. Remember Nurse Platt? He was one of the lovely Gail’s many husbands and he was in every medical scene at the hospital, running the place single-handedly it seemed.

Kandinsky Mon 02-May-22 09:38:43

I’m really pleased Aggie is getting a good juicy storyline ( hopefully! ) I like her character & think she’s a good actress.

Happy Spider is coming back too!

Galaxy Mon 02-May-22 09:55:59

Spider is on classic corrie at the moment, he would have known dev, ken, gail, sally.

Calendargirl Sat 07-May-22 07:08:13

Did I nod off in Wednesday’s episode? I thought Stu and Yasmeen were still not getting on (again) after the food debacle business, then last night they seemed back to normal.
When did they make up? Has he moved back in with her?

Not really keen on Stu, his acting is not much better than the Baileys.

Grannynannywanny Mon 23-May-22 22:42:29

Well Fiz’s Phil has finally blotted his copy book. I wonder how this storyline is going to evolve. He might turn nasty when he finds himself in a financial predicament on his own with the big house.

My memory is very hazy on the John Stape era. I think I’ll have to revisit some old episodes.

lemsip Mon 23-May-22 23:26:57

a good episode of corrie tonight..........

Kim19 Tue 24-May-22 03:01:14

Amy is morphing into her Mum. The changeover is fun to watch.

vegansrock Tue 24-May-22 04:59:46

What happened to the ghastly consultant story? I must have missed an episode as that’s fizzled out. What’s Max up to at the PRU? That GP wouldn’t have just used euphemisms with Sally and Tim before dishing out a prescription. Is Hope about to have a complete change of personality?

Calendargirl Tue 24-May-22 06:37:56

My memory is also hazy on John Stape. He was a teacher wasn’t he, then had an affair with Rosie Webster and ended up kidnapping her.
I can’t remember who he killed though.

Aveline Tue 24-May-22 06:53:51

Or how he died

Calendargirl Tue 24-May-22 07:01:59

Just looked it up. John Stape died in a car crash. Also there was a summary of all his time on the Street.

Will not post it on here, but my word, I had forgotten how gripping (and far fetched) it all was!

The storylines were so much better back then, (he joined in 2007).

Grannynannywanny Tue 24-May-22 07:45:53

Curiosity got the better of me and I found and read the summary Calendargirl. My word that was a long running storyline with dramatic twists and turns. I’d forgotten most of it.

This is the link to it all here but don’t open it if you’d rather look up old episodes.

thought corrie was really good tonight and more like the corrie used to be before all the drugs and violence took over

NotTooOld Mon 30-May-22 17:19:59

Can anyone fill me in on Friday's episode (27 May), please? I missed it and would like to know what happened before tonight's episode.

CatsCatsCats Mon 30-May-22 17:28:56

Friday was mainly about Abi. Kevin declared his love for her but she confessed she was planning to do a runner abroad with Alfie (I think she might change her mind about that, though, as she admitted she loved Kevin too).

NotTooOld Mon 30-May-22 17:37:54

Ooh, thanks very much Cats. I see CS is only on for half an hour tonight. I think I did hear they had changed the listings. Pity, I enjoyed the one hour offerings.
