Poor lass.

I think Penny was missing her Prosecco! Her eldest daughter was so sweet about her mum’s ‘needs’. She gave in so easily and readily to keep mum happy.

It was called Living in the Past, shown on BBC in 1978 and I found it fascinating. There was a ‘where are they now’ so many years later as well.

From the beginning of these programmes, you can usually see who’s going to make it to the end (barring accidents and outside family issues) and those where you wonder why they bothered applying!

SPOILER ALERT

Just watched a couple of episodes while painting ..... hmmm ..... they are dropping like flies. Does it never rain there?

Felt sorry for Penny's children - they provided her every excuse for not joining in but they were having a great time. But then it is all about me, me, me - rather a sad lady really,

It harks right back to that black and white programme where people tried to live in the stone age/ iron age. Anyone remember what it was called?

I love Lucy (isn’t there a show in there somewhere ha!) too.

I am three quarters of the way through the first episode and feel deeply depressed by the woman with the 2 daughters .... her whole attitude is awful to watch - and those poor DDs of hers. Can I bear to watch any more of this?!

Or Hazel could have said “for some reason I’m not doing this butter-making right. Could someone please how me where I’m going wrong?” Better than moaning they’ve gone 3 days without butter.

I too am loving this programme! Kevin is such a sunny soul isn’t he? He just radiates happiness and kindness. He went in hoping to make some friends. How could he not?

I like this and think Kevin is a joy. We were led to believe there was no electricity but this week there was a row of fridges where we saw they kept their beer, eggs and butter and the blonde girl said she had frozen 6 packs of butter.
She could have been a bit kinder to Hazel instead of being snippy about her not being able to make the butter and that really put me off her this week.

Oh I love this programme and, yes, Kevin is my favourite too!
I was glad when the woman with the 2 daughters left - what on earth did she think it was going to be like living the simple life on the farm. And why didn't the woman who couldn't make butter ask her husband to take over? And to leave because of it? Especially because her husband was really enjoying the life.
Can't wait for next week

I’m enjoying this series, but I did wonder about someone asking for a washing machine. No-one pointed out that there was no electricity there! Also, if they were sharing the money, how did one couple manage to buy tobacco for cigarettes? Did they take 6 months supply in?
I think Kevin is great as well. The life is certainly a change from Wigan!

I have really enjoyed this and Kevin is my favourite he has just bloomed.
The ones that have left really would have caused problems for the ones that have embraced this simple but calm life.I will wait and see what happens in the final episode's.

Hasn't Kevin changed? He's blooming.
