The Gilded Age

I watched the full series and really enjoyed it. It was written by Julian Fellows and many of the characters are similar to the ones in Downton Abbey both upstairs and downstairs. I particularly like Christine Baranski (she was great in The Good Fight) who plays the US version of the Maggie Smith part - though no one can outshine Dame Maggie. It's worth watching for the costumes alone - they are fabulous.

Still available to stream. I am really enjoying it.

Well , that’s why I couldn’t find it. It will have to be Bridgeton for my costume drama fix!

I always called this the Gilded Cage. Has it actually finished?

I call it this as well. They really are trapped in a cage of their own making.

Took a while to find its stride but we enjoyed it and hope there's a series 2.

I watched two episodes but it didn’t really grab me.

Season 1 has ended, I’m trying to like it, but after watching Bridgerton, The Gilded Age is like watching paint dry.
