Downton Abbey, new film (possible spoiler alert?)

I’m not a Downton fan but did watch the last film. But I’m a bit bemused by what I’ve read about the new film because I thought the Maggie Smith character announced that she was terminally ill in the last film? Or was that in the series? Is my memory failing me?

Absolutely. I thought the new film would open with her funeral!

it was the film.....and she said she didn't know how long she had.
