I’ve just watched this and it’s certainly put me in the mood for Strictly. The dedication of the dancers is extraordinary, but I did feel for one of the young couples when they were knocked out of one round. The girl was smiling and laughing and trying to be positive but you could tell she was trying to hide how upset she was.

I thought it was going to be tied into Strictly but it wasn't and to my surprise found it an interesting watch. Hadnt realised the world championships are held there every year.
What was the thick brown goop they put on their hair.? Looked really hard to wash out.

Oh that goop was awful! It looked like very thick oil of some kind. I just keep thinking of how uncomfortable those clothes with all the sequins would be with the heat.
I enjoyed the bit about the early days and watching the progressive dances in the black and white film. I just wondered about the ladies in the crinoline type dresses. There did seem to be a range of clothing worn then from evening wear to tea dresses.
