Last week's postponed Strictly is on tonight at 7pm. Apparently Rose & Giovanni will be reprising their winning routine.

Hamza is my winner

eazybee Sun 06-Nov-22 09:20:36

Ellie T was vastly overmarked last week so the more realistic marks last night gave her a nasty shock. I do wonder if the judges' inconsistent marking is a deliberate ploy to sustain interest as no clear winner is emerging.

Mollygo Sun 06-Nov-22 09:27:08

Eazybee, you could be right. I didn’t vote for Hamza, though he was in my top 3, because even if he was in the bottom two I think they’d save him.
I think it’ll be between Mollie, Tony and Ellie S in the dance off, though some judges would add Fleur into that mix.

The Ed Balls episode was so good I have never watched it since as he couldn't be bettered but I would if Liz Truss were to appear. Ha Ha.

Calendargirl Sun 06-Nov-22 10:07:14

I don’t see why Mollie should be in the dance off, she is one of the best ones.

Tyler was not very good last night.

eazybee Sun 06-Nov-22 10:21:57

I thought Mollie's dance last night was one of the best; she was really responding to the music and to her partner, as was Kym.

Joseanne Sun 06-Nov-22 10:41:54

I think I said before that Molly is always in danger because she trained from a young age at theatre school, Sylvia Young's, and made her video one week all about that. People don't like the unfair advantage. DGD occasionally had the same issue getting auditions because she is Conti trained and sometimes even producers don't like the full package. I always vote for Molly because her technique is good and I though last night's dance was lovely.

Calendargirl Sun 06-Nov-22 11:33:05

I suppose we often don’t know about past dance experience though. Looks like HRVY was at dance school with Molly and he went on to be a finalist.

It will never be fair in that respect.

And some, for example Tony, will never make a dancer, no matter how much they try and practise.

Just how it is.

ginny Sun 06-Nov-22 11:50:46

My pick for the dance off tonight are Tony and Ellie S. Tony s departure is well overdue and I didn’t much like Ellie’s Charleston .

Sparklefizz Sun 06-Nov-22 19:34:38

Craig's poor marks for Ellie T prompted the audience to rally round her, including me.

And Tony is through! Well!! I wonder who will be in the dance off now.

ginny Sun 06-Nov-22 19:35:17

Tony through ! Words fail me . !’

Sparklefizz Sun 06-Nov-22 19:47:00

And Mollie in the dance off!!!!!

Casdon Sun 06-Nov-22 19:47:26

People like Tony, it’s as simple as that really ginny. Not everybody votes on the dancing alone, they vote for what they enjoy.
I felt sorry for Kim tonight, I thought it was a bit mean of them to make her sweat in the final two when it’s obvious how nervous she is.

Calendargirl Sun 06-Nov-22 19:47:46

Poor Molly.

She should get through.

Should have been Tyler of the ones left, his dance was the worst.

But it should have been Tony really of course.

gillgran Sun 06-Nov-22 19:49:18

Looking forward to the results show tonight. As a long time fan of Strictly, I always enjoy it every weekend, I love the music, clothes, as well as the dancing.!
I do find, this year, that the judges marking a little puzzling, sometimes a bit unfair?

ginny Sun 06-Nov-22 19:51:42

Yes I know Casdon but it is such a shame . If people want comedy then watch a comedy show. I want to watch dancers .

Sweetpeasue Sun 06-Nov-22 19:51:52

Slow foxtrot so difficult and Mollie did that beautifully I thought.

Casdon Sun 06-Nov-22 19:54:04

ginny

It’s a dancing entertainment show though ginny, not a pure dancing show. I know what you mean, but it’s the viewers who vote, and that’s the most democratic way of deciding who is providing the audience with the most entertainment, isn’t it?

merlotgran Sun 06-Nov-22 19:57:37

Poor Ellie 😪

Sparklefizz Sun 06-Nov-22 19:58:07

I like Ellie S but it's time for her to go.

What is it with Shirley's gushing, saying that people are the "best she has ever seen", or someone's dance is the "best ever"? It's too OTT and insulting to previous dancers and dance partners.

Fleurpepper Sun 06-Nov-22 19:59:27

Balling my eyes out- first time ever. So moving for Ellie- and if I was Tony, I'd feel pretty bad now- he should have gone.

Right decision for Molly though.

Joseanne Sun 06-Nov-22 20:00:45

Lovely Ellie S, but right decision by all four judges.

Sparklefizz Sun 06-Nov-22 20:02:01

I remember John Sargeant when he kept being voted through even though he was poor (and he knew it), volunteered to leave because he felt it was so unfair.

Sweetpeasue Sun 06-Nov-22 20:02:19

Oh dear. I'm in bits. So sad. Of course it should have been Tony. But it's up to the viewers isn't it? If Tony had
been in dance off Ellie would have surely stayed another week wouldn't she?

Sparklefizz Sun 06-Nov-22 20:04:24

If Tony doesn't go out next week, then some really great dancers are going to be voted off.
