Anyone watching? Quite intriguing, and Shirley Henderson is so good as the obsessed woman.

My dh gave it his full attention while I gave it aside glances and attention My dh thought it was rubbish and a waste of time.

Watched it all, my conclusion is that's four hours that I can never get back grin

When can we discuss the ending without spoiling it?

As soon as it’s been screened is fine in my opinion.

What annoys me, which has been discussed before, is when others binge watch, and proceed to talk about the ending before it has been on at the proper time, if you follow.

If others watch it later on catch up, well, that’s unfortunate but can’t be helped.

It was intriguing the way she was somehow able to roam round everyone's house! The family she rescued couldn't really live happily ever after though, knowing their son had killed their daughter!

It was dark, I quite liked its oddness. Although, there were a few ‘ would they really do that’ moments.
She did have MH issues. Strange ending.

It was odd. I assume the ending made sense because she was ill, and thought she had less to lose? I hope that makes sense without giving too much away?

When can we discuss the ending without spoiling it?

Zoejory Wed 26-Oct-22 17:17:43

I had sworn I wasn't going to watch any more episodes but of course I did.

The voice still had me grimacing.

It was an odd programme

Chestnut Wed 26-Oct-22 17:04:23

Checked it out but only watched 20 mins as it was too dark (as per usual). It was just horrible, a missing child, I can't be doing with it, I'd rather watch something with a better storyline or nicer characters.

Shirley Henderson was also a crazy woman under the spell of James Norton in Happy Valley.

I have not seen the last episode yet, but the lead actress is doing well because she makes my skin crawl.
It is a very good drama and good all round acting.I liked the teacher George, I have seen him in dramas before, his name is Craig Parkinson and he steals scenes in my view.I would like to see him in more programmes.

The whole thing was bizarre. Wish I hadn’t stuck with it now. ?

travelsafar Wed 26-Oct-22 14:29:52

What a bizarre ending!!!

Namsnanny Wed 19-Oct-22 10:17:42

I find Shirley Henderson tends to be the same in every part she plays.

Lovetopaint037 Wed 19-Oct-22 10:11:41

She certainly gives me the creeps. Can’t believe I watched another episode.

Esmay Wed 19-Oct-22 08:50:20

Missed it .
Shirley Henderson is a fantastic actress with a distinctive voice .

Calendargirl Wed 19-Oct-22 07:11:03

Yes, her voice is always the same, and her character is usually the murderer or whatever, never a happy, smiley part.

Zoejory Wed 19-Oct-22 07:06:32

She was Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter films. I've not watched these but younger daughter recognised the voice. Once heard never forgotten

Shirley Henderson is her name.

Sarah74 Wed 19-Oct-22 06:39:54

Tried to watch it, but couldn’t bear it. As others say, found her voice very irritating.

JenniferEccles

I don’t know the actress. Is the child-like soft whisper her normal voice or is it put on for this part?

It's her normal voice. She has been in quite a few tv things, and is always the same. I remember her in an episode of Miss Marple (Murder is Easy) and a series with Martin Compston - The Nest.

I don't know if I'll bother with next week. If they had put them all on My5 I would have probably have kept going, but so little happened that I won't remember where I left off by next Monday.

BigBertha1 Tue 18-Oct-22 22:34:25

I didn't enjoy the subject material so turned off. However I like the actress playing the lead when she was in Hamish Macbeth and Charles 11 also in Bridget Jones.

Just switched it off. We found episode 1 eventually, it's on 5 catch up or somewhere or other.

However, like others have mentioned, it's the voice. Just couldn't cope with it.

Lovetopaint037 Tue 18-Oct-22 09:29:07

I thought it was dire. Don’t know if I can stand any more.

Fleur20 Tue 18-Oct-22 07:49:48

Too slow....I lasted 20 minutes then switched off...

cornergran Tue 18-Oct-22 07:40:01

Gave up after half an hour, we both found it irritating.

ParlorGames Tue 18-Oct-22 07:11:46

I was intrigued by the trailers for this drama so we did watch it. However, as good an actress as Shirley Henderson is, I did find her 'too quiet' voice rather tedious and hard work; turning up the volume on the TV didn't help either. When she was walking through the wood whispering "Emily" was simply ridiculous. Don't think we will bother watching tonight.
