The House Across The Street

Am watching it on +1, about three quarters of the way through. Seems very slow but intriguing. Hope it picks up tomorrow.

I watched it, and was disappointed to see it's not on My5. I much prefer to watch things like that in one go. I don't know why they spin them out when they have a channel to use.

I thought it was quite atmospheric, but the obsessed woman (can't remember her name!) was close to being unbelievable. The cast is good, so I'll stick with it, but might wait until the end and watch it altogether.

Watched it a while ago on Netflix. I did enjoy its creepiness.

Oh, is it available to watch elsewhere? I thought it was a new Ch5 thing.

Doesn’t the woman have a strange voice? She sounds like a child.
The first episode was ok. Quite typical of Channel 5 dramas I thought.

I find Shirley Henderson’s ‘little girl’ voice irritating.

Not the best drama I've seen, but I will watch it again tonight. It might improve.

I was intrigued by the trailers for this drama so we did watch it. However, as good an actress as Shirley Henderson is, I did find her 'too quiet' voice rather tedious and hard work; turning up the volume on the TV didn't help either. When she was walking through the wood whispering "Emily" was simply ridiculous. Don't think we will bother watching tonight.

Gave up after half an hour, we both found it irritating.

Just switched it off. We found episode 1 eventually, it's on 5 catch up or somewhere or other.

However, like others have mentioned, it's the voice. Just couldn't cope with it.

I didn't enjoy the subject material so turned off. However I like the actress playing the lead when she was in Hamish Macbeth and Charles 11 also in Bridget Jones.

It's her normal voice. She has been in quite a few tv things, and is always the same. I remember her in an episode of Miss Marple (Murder is Easy) and a series with Martin Compston - The Nest.

I don't know if I'll bother with next week. If they had put them all on My5 I would have probably have kept going, but so little happened that I won't remember where I left off by next Monday.

Tried to watch it, but couldn’t bear it. As others say, found her voice very irritating.

She was Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter films. I've not watched these but younger daughter recognised the voice. Once heard never forgotten

Yes, her voice is always the same, and her character is usually the murderer or whatever, never a happy, smiley part.
