I'm a celebrity

I can’t see another thread so apologies if there is
After years of not bothering with “I m a celebrity get me out of here” I decided to have a look as I like Boy George
And I have to say I m in now so will need to keep watching this ridiculously daft programme even if it’s just to combat the depressing days
Anyway what do you all think ?

Joseanne Thu 17-Nov-22 15:54:57

I just find Boy George extremely unpleasant, which is my definition of obnoxious. I noticed even cool, calm favourite Jill walked away from him while they were together washing up because he started having a go.
I can't remember what she said to him, but in the private video she confessed she was just doing as he says. "Anything for an easy life". If she can get riled by him, there isn't much hope.
He is doing ok in trials.

maddyone Thu 17-Nov-22 15:56:25

But you’re right Joseanne. He is unpleasant and becoming more so.

MissAdventure Thu 17-Nov-22 16:08:19

Ok, you've talked me into it.
I shall have to watch now. grin

It's a little bit of togetherness, knowing we're all watching and whingeing at the same time 😀

MissAdventure Thu 17-Nov-22 16:12:15

That's the spirit.

I agree with you Onward to a certain extent but don't agree that being nice to someone's face and then criticising them behind their back is being true to oneself.

FWIW, I wasn't comfortable when Scarlette broached the subject of his arrest but then I wasn't comfortable with how Matt was treated for the first few days after his arrival, and continues to be treated by some, more often than not behind his back.

I agree Smileless but I didn't mean by being two faced, I just meant it generally that he seems like a loner- but also quite happy to do his own thing / secure in himself. It's not clever or nice to be two faced, especially on tv!

I was a bit gobsmacked when Scarlette mentioned it. Maybe it's what everyone else was wondering but she did blurt it out a bit. We were very uncomfortable with how Matt was treated as well, even though not fans.

^….I don’t think Boy George………have done anything particularly wrong….. ^

He seriously assaulted a man, so seriously that he was sentenced to fifteen months in prison. He was lucky because he was let out after four months, wearing a tag.
I think he’s done something extremely wrong. Don’t you BlueBelle and Lucca?

I’m sorry I’m not up to speed on that. But it does sound like it ! (Remember I’m not actually watching).

Maybe the criteria for being in the show should re reconsidered ?

Um …why are you asking bluebelle and me by the way ?

maddyone Thu 17-Nov-22 16:24:24

Oh because of a comment up thread Lucca where you and BlueBelle were discussing Boy George. But if you didn’t know, then you can’t be expected to realise that he’s got history. I assumed everyone knew that, so sorry for making that assumption.

DerbyshireLass Thu 17-Nov-22 16:24:55

Theatre Of Cruelty, up there with bear baiting and putting people in the stocks.

Yes I know the contestants volunteer, and presumably by now they know what they are letting themselves in for, but I still consider it an unedifying spectacle.

maddyone Thu 17-Nov-22 16:26:41

All the tea in China wouldn’t persuade me to go on that programme.

I thought we were discussing Matt Hancock ? I know very little about BG
I believe my contribution to the two post “discussion “ was “ good post bluebelle. ”

I don’t think Boy George………have done anything particularly wrong
As I understood it, I think this was the bit of the post maddyone was referring to at 14:16, which most of us disagree with. Boy George is a liar and is digging himself a big hole.
The victim must feel very angry.

maddyone Thu 17-Nov-22 16:38:48

I have apologised Lucca but sorry if I got it wrong. Shall we move on now?

maddyone Thu 17-Nov-22 16:39:39

Joseanne that was the bit I was disagreeing with.

maddyone Thu 17-Nov-22 16:41:04

But I was thinking of his criminal history, not what he’s doing in the camp. What he did to his victim was horrible and he’s trying hard to whitewash it.

Smileless2012 Thu 17-Nov-22 16:42:24

Oh yes, I agree with you there Onward and being secure in himself is I think why when he has done a trial, he's remained so calm and fixated on the task in hand.

Chestnut Thu 17-Nov-22 16:50:40

BlueBelle So you don’t like anyone who’s not a Matt fan chestnut I don’t think boy George or Chris Moyles have done anything particularly wrong
I just feel those two have a bad attitude. They have been sneery behind his back and obviously resentful of him. They don't like him being camp leader and being so good at the trials, yet he kept them well fed for days.

I agree, and don't watch it.

Anyone else think Charlene is being selfish not sleeping in the RV?
I know Mike said he found her actions F...... annoying.

Chestnut Thu 17-Nov-22 17:41:49

Charlene should get penalised for not sleeping there, but I'm also cross with Mike for using bad language and revealing private and personal family information which is disrespectful to the royal family. Would he have done this if the Queen was alive I wonder? His behaviour and language is unbecoming for someone of his age and position.

lemsip Thu 17-Nov-22 17:53:11

George served his time for his crime!

BlueBelle Thu 17-Nov-22 17:53:11

His budgie smugglers are unbecoming for sure

George served his time for his crime!

Yes he did, but he doesn’t seem very repentant. He wants to whitewash it.

Smileless2012 Thu 17-Nov-22 17:57:45

I thought Charlene had been told to sleep in the RVhmm. If she wont then why can't Sean? I'm sure when Mike stood behind him to stretch his back, I heard it clickshock.
