Yes, we all know it’s rubbish, but Corrie is an institution.

We need to have an active thread at all times.

I must have missed an episode or nodded off. When did Mike flirt with Leanne?

I nearly choked on my cuppa when Spider sat on his hospital bed unravelling that impressive bandage from his head. There wasn’t so much as a single scratch under it!

There appear to be so many different writers of this soap I am not surprised we have so many silly storylines.
I wish the Stephen storyline was over and he was in jail, preferably in another country.

Yes, please sooner the better!!!

Oh good

Just in case some don't know there's an hour of CS tonight 7-8pm.

Signing would not have got a pupil sent home. Strange school, just one teacher on premises, where are the rest of the staff, including the Head, Caretaker, cleaners, etc. etc.

Teacher stated she thought that Joseph may have been swearing - not much good if he is the only one in the class who signs.

As for brave Alya - how stupid can you get in driving a van with a bomb in it through the town streets. Perhaps she has some hidden injuries which will result in her collapse shortly.

So, off to London for Shona. Amazing the speed these thngs happen in Corrie. Any such football (or anything else), talent ID course would be arranged many months in advance, and usually held in school holiday periods. is the actress really planning to return to her role in six weeks??

So, Max arrested by that nice local bobby, keeping it all well within the neighbourhood, Surely, the bomb would have meant the appearance of the anti-terrorist squad.

As for the silly turns and bends in the Stephen story - does anyone ever find out what the watchers think of a particular story line and how many of us really do not like this one and want it finished pronto.

As for the surrgacy, etc story - best less said the better.

Why did Dev have to rush to the school? Who's running the kebab joint? Bernie's in the sit in.
Oh no. So much to worry about!

Elless Thu 05-Jan-23 13:19:29

I stopped watching for a while but have started again in the hope that Stephen will soon be caught out but didn't realise that Summer is no longer pregnant - is that right?😲 I guess nobody knows?

Alioop Thu 05-Jan-23 12:49:40

You both have got it so right.
Dev and Chesney showed nearly as much urgency rushing to the school as the others did after finding a bomb.

NotTooOld Thu 05-Jan-23 11:25:43

I thought last night's episode was just daft. If you found a bomb in your vehicle would you hang around pulling at the wires? No! You would leap out of said vehicle and yell at everyone to leave the area immediately. And if you were driving along knowing you had a bomb under your feet and you saw the time was nearly up you would stop (wherever you were), jump out pronto and run for your life. Surely?

It's amazing we haven't had a paramedic before! What next in the career line?

Well they were sadly lacking a bomb disposal expert. There’s a job opportunity for one of them. I expected them to draw that scene out for much longer with Craig crouched in the van defusing the bomb.

Good to see the Corrie hospital isn’t suffering any delays. Aliya had been treated in A&E and arrived back in the street at the same time the police were just arresting Max. In real life she could still be waiting to be seen.

Aveline Wed 04-Jan-23 21:34:32

Aha! Good possibility Beechnut.
Max is coming over as a scared but brave young lad. Good acting.

Beechnut Wed 04-Jan-23 21:06:00

While investigating the blown up van I’m wondering if Leo will be found nearby!

Aveline Wed 04-Jan-23 17:36:20

I agree. Just daft.

Clawdy Wed 04-Jan-23 17:33:56

No school would send a child home for using sign language. They might have a chat with him and ask what he was saying, but children would only be sent home for something very serious. Ridiculous storyline.

Devorgilla Wed 04-Jan-23 12:39:43

I am assuming Griff plans to have van driven into the market as has happened in real life. He won't get his hands dirty of course.

Grannynannywanny Tue 03-Jan-23 12:15:14

Just had a google. Sorry, it was Hollyoaks Eileen’s firefighter moved to after his stint on the street. I don’t watch Hollyoaks or Eastenders. It takes me all my time to keep up with Corrie and Emmerdale!

Grannynannywanny Tue 03-Jan-23 12:00:30

I vaguely remember a firefighter years ago. He was Eileen’s love interest for a while. I think the actor is a regular in Eastenders now.

Aveline Tue 03-Jan-23 11:35:36

Good idea Calendargirl.

We are short of a fire fighter.

Aadi maybe?

Grannynannywanny Tue 03-Jan-23 08:59:46

That’s true, I hadn’t really thought of it like that and was expecting them to pay up more surrogacy money .

I wonder how long it will take for Leanne to spill the beans about Mike’s behaviour. They’re a weird couple but I find myself starting to feel sorry for Esther.

I suppose Asha will go down the Corrie fast track route and she’ll be a fully qualified paramedic in the next few weeks.

Aveline Tue 03-Jan-23 08:12:51

Mike and Esther have already given Summer a fortune for a surrogacy. That's why Summer is feeling so guilty. She took the money knowing she wasn't pregnant any more.
It'll be nice to have a paramedic on the street. A change of job opportunity too!

Calendargirl Tue 03-Jan-23 07:35:56

No, don’t think it was a scam. Esther looked genuinely shocked and furious with Mike. And his flouncing out was real.

Can Summer get any more dopey?

I guessed Asha was going to decide to be a paramedic. Nurse Aggie’s nose will be out of joint once she qualifies. No longer the only know-all health adviser on the Street.

Soon everyone will be in uniform.

Grannynannywanny Tue 03-Jan-23 07:19:18

I wonder if the visit from the bailiffs was genuine. Or if it was a scam set up by Mike and Esther to heap more guilt on Summer about taking their money. If it was genuine how are they going to find the money to pay for the surrogacy?

Hopefully Mike’s flirting with Leanne will be his downfall.
