Yes, we all know it’s rubbish, but Corrie is an institution.

We need to have an active thread at all times.

Beth is obviously wasted at Underworld!

BlueBelle Mon 26-Dec-22 08:25:25

I missed some of it as I wasn’t at home but what I did see I did find a bit naff The wedding ring as if ! and the dolls house sofa all so unbelievable to the point of being silly

vegansrock Mon 26-Dec-22 08:06:36

It amazes me how a previously unseen ring always fits perfectly after a proposal! The wedding obviously had a few hitches along the way, I can’t believe that was the same dress created from the ghastly original. Did Max leave his expensive gift behind when he walked out? How come the undertaker( name momentarily forgotten) pay £1,000 for a dolls house sofa?

Calendargirl Mon 26-Dec-22 07:27:51

Well, what did you all think to the Christmas Day episode?

The wedding, Fizz’s mystery Good Samaritan, Stephen and his women, the usual Max/Griff stuff, Ken coming up trumps with a replacement ring…..

Do not know about now - but back in 1928 in East London, my parent married on 25th December (okay it was in a synaogue). My Dad deliberately chose that day, as it meant that his workplace was already going to be closed, so he was not losing another days pay!!!

Always made Christmas very special as we celebrated their anniversary. For several years, they were collected by hubbie (they never, ever had a car), and once they arrived and had a wlecoming cup of tea with mince pie, then the children were allowed to open their christmas tree pressies.

I know some of you may be confused as synagogue wedding and christmas tree - but as a a family we have always been very happy to celebrate any event which is involves family, food and festivities!!!

Only in a soap can you get married on Christmas Day

Grannynannywanny Sat 24-Dec-22 20:30:24

I sat down for a cuppa and turned on the tv and I thought I was hallucinating. The actors who play Daniel, Kevin,Billy, Deedee, Glenda and Debbie were all singing together on stage. It was a show called Britain Get Singing. They were surprisingly good together although Kevin looked nervous and out of his comfort zone.

The programme starts again on ITV+1 at 9.05pm if anyone wants to view it. I missed the start of it but I think the Corrie cast were first to perform.

Just needs Alina and mini Ty to fling open the door of the register office as Ty is about to make his vows.

That’s assuming they could get on a plane and train with all the strikes.

Daniel should have avoided popping the ring into his bottle bag until the last minute, hindsight being a wonderful thing.

Oh, and thank heavens for Nurse Aggie, having a few spare gifts under the tree to donate to bereft neighbours.

vegansrock Sat 24-Dec-22 06:29:55

Well they are setting up an interesting Christmas Corrie- the Wedding, Daniel andDaisy - the proposal or not? Spyder and Toyah - will Griff et al get their comeuppance or will Max move in ? will the body be discovered?

Calendargirl Fri 23-Dec-22 17:54:04

Just caught a snatch of Classic Corrie today (never watched it before) made in 2002.

Couldn’t believe how young Fizz, Tyrone and Toyah all looked.

Positively babies!

NotTooOld Fri 23-Dec-22 17:16:38

Poor Shona, having to hide her pregnancy. Surely she must be going off on maternity leave any day now?

Has Max learned his lesson? I do hope so. Silly boy.

Beechnut Fri 23-Dec-22 07:47:21

The wedding looks all sweetness and light on the front of the tv mags 👰🏻🤵🏽

sodapop Thu 22-Dec-22 09:14:23

I'm looking forward to the wedding as well vegansrock it could be absolute chaos or a perfect day. I know which one my money is on.

vegansrock Thu 22-Dec-22 06:25:48

Perhaps Aggie was on strike. Though Wethersfield General seems unaffected by NHS woes, everyone gets immediate treatment and never languishes in A and E for hours. I’m not sure why Carla would be relying on Jacob- the factory is so over staffed she has the pick of loads is so called assistants. As for Jacob’s nasty dad, the sh1t is really going to hit the fan when Leanne finds out about him! The Christmas Day wedding- what could go wrong?

Beechnut Wed 21-Dec-22 21:28:21

What happened tonight! Two street folk at the hospital and no sign of Aggie🤨

Kate1949 Wed 21-Dec-22 20:32:29

Watch this space! grin

Doodledog Wed 21-Dec-22 20:04:56

Bob Dylan??

How wonderful. I can't imagine him taking it, but I'd love to se that. I'm a huge Dylan fan.

Beechnut Wed 21-Dec-22 18:58:05

I see he has been offered a cameo.

Kate1949 Tue 20-Dec-22 21:22:57

Apparently Bob Dylan loves Coronation Street!

Calendargirl Tue 20-Dec-22 21:12:49

Just watched last night’s Corrie on ITVX on my I pad.

Couldn’t get subtitles, no sign of the ‘s’ symbol anywhere.

Has anyone else found this? Always had the subtitles on itv hub.

lemsip Fri 16-Dec-22 20:23:02

more depressing rubbish fromcorrie

Calendargirl Fri 16-Dec-22 20:17:51

How does Daniel, who doesn’t seem to be working, afford to sit drinking whiskies in the Rovers?

Do they pay any rent to live at Ken’s?

Clawdy Thu 15-Dec-22 22:36:10

So Ken's not leaving? No surprise there then! grin

Doodledog Wed 14-Dec-22 23:22:18

So does Ken live on? From Street Lethario to Jilted John in one short episode. The younger Ken is busy fighting off suitors in Classic Corrie too grin. He's always been a man of stamina, has our Ken.

Grannynannywanny Wed 14-Dec-22 22:21:57

Simon will probably be sporting a designer suit and be assistant manager of the factory by Christmas .

Let’s hope that’s the am dram finished. It was dire.
