Why hasn't the suitcase with the body bobbed to the surface by now? Were there no other relatives at all that might have been looking for a father and son who both disappeared abruptly?
Where are the prospective bride and groom - and when is the wedding that Paul is funding?
Why is the scaffolding still outside Ken's house?
Where has Gary gone - and Ruby? So many characters and storylines seem to be dropped completely for weeks. Can anyone enlighten me, please?

(1001 Posts)Yes, we all know itâs rubbish, but Corrie is an institution.
We need to have an active thread at all times.

Things donât look good for Elaineâs future!
Was the Kabin closed? I know it was a Bank Holiday, but Brian often seems to not be at work, either in the Rovers, Royâs Rolls or just making a nuisance of himself with his neighbours.
Now able to spend hours with George making model ships.
Doesnât have any staff either, apart from Rita, who must be in her 80âs.
Our local newsagents is open from about 5.30 until late, so donât know how Brian makes a living.
Who is looking after Harry while Sarah is flashing her eyes at various men?. Think she needs to be shown a photo of him so she can recognise him when she suddenly remembers he exists. Also her daughter Bethany., but I think the script writers seem to have forgotten about both of them as well.
Maybe we should eat at Roy's first then the Rovers. There's a lot to do so we should divide up the tasks. Can I go to Eileen's and sort out that lot? Probably best if we go to the factory mob handed though. We could give the girls a hand on the knicker stitching- after all there's only three of them producing huge international orders.
I've had an idea re Stephen: he should be allowed to marry Tim's mum because then he'd die of boredom and irritation.
It would all be a very busy time. We'd need to stay overnight in Debbie's hotel in Chariot Square.
(I think I might be a bit bored this evening
)
Great idea! We can have a charabanc trip, with tartan flasks and sandwiches.
I think we should march down to Weatherfield and sort them all out. We've got some great ideas for storylines too. Let's meet in the Rovers for Betty's hotpots and pints of Newton and Ridley's best.
Ilovecheese
Where is Ruby?
Well, whereâs Jack?
Havenât seen him for ages.
Did he go to Germany with Kevin?
And why is Kevin not back? Debbieâs been back a while after their dad died.
Who looks after baby Alfie while Abby runs the garage virtually single handed, as Tyrone doesnât seem to be there much, and Aaron is pretty useless.
Where is Ruby?
I don't like the amy / aaron saga. gone too far with him having the word guilty in marker pen written on his forehead!
the paul storyline is heartbreaking . do we really need to see this sort of storyline on our screens.......'ena sharples' would turn in her grave if she could see corrie of today
I'm sure I've heard her referred to as a barrister and she wore all the right gear in court. Could she be a solicitor advocate? ie a lawyer who can represent clients in court?
I donât think Deedee is a barrister is she? Sheâs just called a âlawyerâ, perhaps the scriptwriters assume Corrie watchers wonât know the difference. Yes, Iâm fed up with Amy / Aaron/ Summer. Whatâs happened to Roy and the dog? Perhaps Stephen will do Elaine in for her money next, that might be a relief - she is really annoying as well. Quite like the Sarah/ Damian will they/ wonât they tease - I think they will! Wonder if she still not taking the pill!
I think youâve got some good points Doodledog about the social âteachingâ thatâs on Corrie. I tend to think itâs overplayed and feel as if Iâm being taught to suck eggs, but probably there are people like your mum, who it helps to learn.
I do find the lawyers office annoying though. That hasnât been well researched at all. Barristers and solicitors donât work together in the same office. Barristers join a set of Chambers from where they practice. They tend only to wear gowns and wigs in The Royal Courts of Justice, but I think criminal barristers wear them in other courts. These lawyers appear to have no specialties, and both barristers and solicitors specialise. They also appear in court with apparently no waiting. Trials take months to get to court. If Deedee is a barrister, she wouldnât be working with Adam, who is a solicitor. I just wish that since the writers have incorporated a solicitorâs office into the street, they would actually take the trouble to find out a bit about how it works.
And why does no one at all ever get given a GP appointment in about three weeks? They ring up, the phone is answered immediately, and they get an appointment in about half an hour. Not the experience of most Gransnetters I gather from all the GP threads on here.
I donât like the Amy/ Aaron storyline either If he had purposely got her drunk to have his way with her it would be a better storyline but they were both involved with getting drunk, both messing around on the sofa, I doubt he even knew, in the drunken state they were both in, that she was conked out so he merrily carried on, so very border line, she was as much to blame as him but I suppose itâs a warning to girls not to get paralytic and then regret it, and to boys get it in writing that she wants sex before going ahead.
I agree Summer is very irritating what happened to her career in the knicker factory ?
Agreed about Damon
.
I donât mind the social issues storylines. They can be educational and are usually very well researched (eg the HIV and breast cancer ones on Eastenders). My mum was quite homophobic at one time, but seeing sympathetic gay characters in soaps has changed her mind, and reports show that people do consult doctors after characters show that a diagnosis of cancer is not always a death sentence. The MND association was consulted about Paulâs story and is pleased that it will raise awareness. Iâm not sure I like the Amy/Aaron one though, but I suppose it shows that life doesnât happen in black and white.
Another one fed up with Amy and Aaron. And I find Summer soo irritating. Does she do anything apart from waiting to get into Manchester Uni?
After all her histrionics last year, the trying to cheat her way into Oxford, her issues with her weight and her diabetes, her relationship with Aaron, the pregnancy and supposed surrogacy, the PA job at the factoryâŠ..
Now she just rushes around, being Miss Sensible with Amy, arranging parties and bistro/Speed Dahl lunchesâŠ..
Damon is the best thing to have arrived on the street lately. A really bad boy, but so appealing to the ladies.
đ
I canât bear Stephen, his voice drives me mad too.
Iâm also fed up of the Amy/ Aaron story whilst understanding itâs an important issue. Do the makers of these ridiculous programmes not realise that itâs not up to them to teach us about social issues?
I still like Corrie on the whole, but I get fed up with being âtaughtâ what I already know about social issues. I use to really enjoy the humour; Bet Lynch, Alec Gilroy, Annie Walker and Jack, Rita and Mavis, and the absolute best Jack and Vera.
I canât bear Stephen. His voice is so creepy and I donât like the way he is treating Timâs Mum, Elaine.
I am loving naughty boy Damon, he is playing the part so well and Sarah is clearly under his spell. Looks like they will be back in bed before too long.
I agree on the last three points Kadinskibut Stephen s whispering voice drives me mad and the whole character is everything I would dislike in a person he s like a nail on the chalk board
I think Iâm the only person on this thread who absolutely loves Stephen. Heâs brilliant!
Damon is very appealing in a bad boy way so can see the attraction.
Getting really bored with the Amy & Aaron story line ( I know itâs an important issue )
Sorry Paul is leaving as I quite like his character - wish theyâd got rid of his sister instead.
They donât do anything professionally. Non employees swanning in and out of the factory like it was Piccadilly Circus. Stephen in an important business meeting looking at his mail đ
Was glad to see Sarah back at the factory, albeit not for very long, soon swanning off for a long lunch. I thought she must have left, as it seems to have become a two man managerial role between Stephen and Michael, and Sarah was a spare part.
Not very professional, butting in to her husbandâs work appointments.
Think Adam will soon notice the âcome hitherâ smiles she bestows on Damon, while assuring him she loves her husband.
Sheâs been to Turkey
How come Abby has a full set of expensive veneers? To match her gel nails?
Aveline
