I agree with what Maddyone said on the last thread, Matt Hancock was not personally responsible for the pandemic and was not singly responsible for decisions taken during that horrific time.
He had an affair, he didn’t advertise it, some spiteful member of Downing Street staff took photos and spread the word. Yes he hurt his wife and family, he’s not the first and sadly won’t be the last.
In my opinion the thing he did wrong was agree to go to Australia to take part in the programme, albeit to raise money for charity and to let people see the human side of politicians, when he should be in his constituency and in parliament dealing with the serious issues we all face here at home.
I do agree Joseanne that it is right to separate politics and the man when making judgement on character.

I agree LauraNorderr and didn't he say what we've all been thinking, that there's Matt Hancock and then there's Matt. Fair comment.

Glad to see the back of Chris. Glad it’s dawned on him that someone who didn’t slag off others is more popular than someone who did.

merlotgran Thu 24-Nov-22 22:21:52

I’m glad Chris has gone.

Callistemon21 Thu 24-Nov-22 22:11:37

Zoejory

Well this is an almost impossible trial. How difficult to throw the star into that silly pillar box!

I thought Chris was going to be able to move him forward and let him post it in the pillar box.

I really, really want to see Ant do some of these trials. Or is it Dec (never know which is which!).

Joseanne Thu 24-Nov-22 21:46:51

Chris raised some interesting questions about the workings at Westminster.

Zoejory Thu 24-Nov-22 21:30:21

I wondered if Jill might have fared better as well. Very difficult! Poor Owen. As for Chris redeeming himself ... maybe next time!

Joseanne Thu 24-Nov-22 21:25:46

Mike might have scored a couple.

merlotgran Thu 24-Nov-22 21:24:29

Oh dear, it’s not going well. 😂

Millie22 Thu 24-Nov-22 21:14:56

One star Chris doing the trial ... no chance!

Joseanne Thu 24-Nov-22 20:15:19

I think I said this morning that Jill, Owen, Mike and Matt would make a great celebrity 🌀 team, but I've changed my mind. Its sways better when there's a weak one who has to be egged on by the others, so Seann might be a good candidate.

In 🌀 they dress up as superheroes and have to run across a slippery slidey course while being bombarded with balls and water. The first one goes 1/4 of the way, the next 1/2 way and so on, each clutching a big star which they mustn't drop.

Zoejory Thu 24-Nov-22 20:07:29

I think Jill or Owen will win.

The Celebrity Cyclone is bonkers, Callistemon21!

I'm thinking Owen, Jill, Mike and possibly Matt will be in the final 4. But I won't bet on it!

Callistemon21 Thu 24-Nov-22 19:54:07

Aveline

I wonder which ones will last till the 'Celebrity Cyclone'- my favourite trial.

Oh!? I've never seen it before so it sounds interesting.

I'm in Jill's camp. She lovely, brave and finds the humour in every situation.

Callistemon21 Thu 24-Nov-22 19:51:24

Babatunde was never winner material

I must admit I'd never heard of him before this programme.
Nor Seann with two enns, nor Owen, nor Scarlette. Chris was hardly on my radar. I liked Charlene presenting the news.

Perhaps they're just not well-known enough?

I do think that Baba seems like a thoroughly nice person.

Grannynannywanny

Callistemon21
Can she do a trial, please? The one in the underwater tanks with snakes and crocodiles?

She works in Westminster. I don’t think snakes would be a problem for her 😆

😂😂😂

Zoejory Thu 24-Nov-22 18:59:51

Oh i love the celebrity cyclone 🌀 It's brilliant.

Aveline Thu 24-Nov-22 17:32:36

Joseanne Thu 24-Nov-22 17:05:53

Owen is definitely favourite and I think the camp mates have had an awakening that he needs to do as many trials as possible in order to equal Matt's performance.
Sadly Mike is lagging behind. I think he is one of the contestants who hasn't really been able to be himself due to Royal Family connections. I just feel he might normally be far more chatty.

Zoejory Thu 24-Nov-22 13:12:52

Yes, Galaxy, but Owen is coming across well. Even with his hunger pangs. He's a lovely young man, easy on the eye, friendly. He doesn't gossip. He moves away from any negative chat about other campmates. I'm sure he has lots of votes coming in from younger viewers.

FannyCornforth Thu 24-Nov-22 12:58:43

To be clear - it isn’t my own opinion that I was voicing, I was just saying that it is a theory that has been bandied about

Galaxy Thu 24-Nov-22 12:50:39

You could say that about Owen though, hes a nice enough bloke but not that famous. Hollyoaks doesnt have the following of eastenders etc. And I think theres a good chance he will win.

Zoejory Thu 24-Nov-22 12:05:16

Babatunde was never winner material. He was a charming bloke. No nasty edge, just a pleasant all round good guy. However, a lot of people, me included, had no idea who he was. A bit like the lovely Scarlett. I know now that she's quite a well known presenter but I'd not heard of her and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Scarlett was aware that she wasn't as well known as some of the others . It makes sense that unless you're remarkable your fanbase is not going to be as big as others.

The voting that's going on now is to vote for your favourites. Simple as that.

No racism, no sexism.

Chestnut Thu 24-Nov-22 11:42:12

Well, there’s a lot of talk about sexism and racism being at play.
So all the white males have to be eliminated first? Surely that would also be sexism and racism. You can't win that argument, it's pointless.

FannyCornforth Thu 24-Nov-22 11:09:09

Cressida

Can't understand why Babatunde went and Seann stayed.

Well, there’s a lot of talk about sexism and racism being at play.
I’m not watching it, but I’m surprised too.
From what I’ve seen on here and elsewhere, Baba was a popular contestant.
I’ve heard several people say that he was winner material
