We have a new reality show starting on BBC1 Tues night called The Traitors which looks quite interesting. I will definitely give it a try. I notice they are starting it just as I'm a Celeb..... has ended. 😉

I'm hoping the excited screaming will diminish as the numbers drop, but I'm afraid the sobbing may increase instead. I shall get really annoyed if they start crying all the time. It's just a game, not tragic news from the western front.

Yes, I always think that when contestants in things like Big Brother get letters from home. They haven't seen their friends and family for three weeks or so, but they behave as though it's a massive deal - do they never go on holiday?

Chestnut Sat 03-Dec-22 00:27:52

The one thing that is upsetting me is the way they are treating Matt. The poor fellow is falling in love with that young lady (can't remember her name) and she has been leading him on and flirting right from the start. So her behaviour is unforgiveable, what kind of bi*ch person is she? She should have made it clear that she has a boyfriend and is not open to a relationship. There was no need to say her boyfriend was in the game! I think she and the programme makers are behaving appallingly to let him fall in love with her.

Aveline Sat 03-Dec-22 07:11:54

Or just fancy her? He's young. It happens. It's a shame he's been so open about it.

Doodledog Sat 03-Dec-22 07:27:34

It’s a game. They’ve been in there a few days - it’s not as though she’s let him think they’ll make a life together after a long and fake courtship. He needs to think with his head.

I don’t think it’s at all fair to blame her or use language like that, whether you cross it out or not. She doesn’t want to be voted out and if she has an ally then that’s less likely. It’s just a tactic, and it could easily backfire. It’s not unforgivable, any more than is breaking up friendship groups or turning people against one another, and sexist language like ‘bitch’ is unnecessary IMO.

He is clearly besotted with her, he even mentioned marriage. Okay, I know that's too much but he seems to have fallen quite hard. I really don't like the way she has been stringing him along especially in the first episode, and she even admitted it. Why not just say she had a boyfriend? One simple sentence and he knows where he stands. It's what any decent person would do.

Doodledog Sat 03-Dec-22 10:07:28

They are 'murdering' each other though grin. And eliminating one another from the group in the hope of winning money. There's nothing 'decent' about any of that.

He's not a schoolboy, and it's not her fault if he falls in love at the drop of a hat. They are there to play a game, not to find a wife.

Chestnut Sat 03-Dec-22 10:44:53

Well I feel sorry for him when he talks about her in such a loving way. It just seems unnecessary to put him through a possible heartbreak.

We must remember that it is a psychological game show that takes no prisoners.

CW said that the game began the minute they entered the train.

Everything the contestants do is part of the game.

Poor Matt has forgotten that fact.

Poor Matt might be playing the game too. They have probably been directed in what to act up so that we can be entertained. I am looking forward to the next episode.

True

If it came to the point where Matt had to decide whether to murder her or vote her off to save his own skin we'd soon see how much in love he is, and how far his inner 'bitch' would go to get the money.

Aveline Sat 03-Dec-22 12:34:37

Ooh this game is going to really screw up less resilient types.

Allsorts Sat 03-Dec-22 16:11:16

I won’t watch it as I think it could be damaging to some if tge contestants, it seems against everything I hold dear.

Aveline Sat 03-Dec-22 16:56:54

They've all chosen to be on the show. The tasks are interesting. I particularly enjoyed the church bells one. They all work together well.

I agree, but they must have been well informed before being chosen. They must know it involves lying, cheating, psychological games and murder!

Nanatoone Sun 04-Dec-22 16:12:25

Caught up on the three available today, I really liked it. Some of the people are horrible, the spa guy John has a big mouth. I like the tasks as they are quite tough but not disgusting (so far). Waiting for no 4 now.

Chestnut Sun 04-Dec-22 23:35:48

I really don't like John. He really upset Aaron who will keep well clear of him from now on! They all seemed very upset that Claire was murdered, but I found her trout pout so annoying. I can't bear seeing women with botoxed faces and lips full of fillers. You can spot it a mile off and I'm glad I won't have to look at that any more.

Doodledog Sun 04-Dec-22 23:50:24

Is John the one who was upset when someone assumed that the older team members would hold him back?

The only one whose name I can remember is Wilf grin. That's what comes of watching them back to back a week ago.

Chestnut Mon 05-Dec-22 08:56:33

Here are the names and faces:

Doodledog Mon 05-Dec-22 09:34:34

Oh, thank you. That will be useful, as I have a flea brain for 'easy' TV and only half watch (much to Mr Dog's annoyance).

Yes, that's the one I meant (John). I'm not keen on him, really.

What on earth is Aisha wearing? That dress looks as though it's been stuck on her like the ones on the back of the Bunty.

Imran is the one who keeps telling us that he got a PhD at 21 or whatever grin. Even his bio in the Radio Times is telling us how clever he is.

There are some interesting occupations amongst them. I wonder what's involved in being a cheerleading coach? (Theo) or a BMX athlete (Matt). We've also got a magician and a comedian. I wonder what sort of mix the casting team were looking for.

It's back on tomorrow, and I'll be watching.

Oh thanks from me too Chestnut I was getting some names and faces muddled
Yes John I do not like that man one bit
I thought it was really nasty how the doctor Amos and A N other where sent packing before they started
I agree about the trout pout face too chestnut
allsorts you not watching it won’t stop it happening they aren’t climbing Mount Everest in the freezing cold in bathing suits they wouldn’t go in it if they didn’t know it would be a bit scary but it s not that psychologically taxing it really isn’t

It was a shock start to the series!

Totally agree about the trout pout and found it difficult to like her on that basis (superficial I know!)

I like the challenges, especially the bell ringing one, but would not have done well in the last one (upside down etc - won't say too much in case people haven't seen it yet!!)

BlueBelle Tue 06-Dec-22 22:32:43
