We have a new reality show starting on BBC1 Tues night called The Traitors which looks quite interesting. I will definitely give it a try. I notice they are starting it just as I'm a Celeb..... has ended. 😉

Well Wilfred is turning into a snake in the grass. However, I suspect that Amanda has the measure of him. I wish that Maddy was gone as her rabbiting on annoys me.

Maybe on every night for two weeks max? Stringing it out round the football really hasn't helped.

I think the numbers were ok - fewer people would make it difficult for the traitors to hide, and you need that until they get settled in. I think it would have been much better if the episodes hadn’t been messed about by the football - the long gap in the middle destroyed some of the tension.

Yes agree with this, and the football got in the way.... loving the psychology of it - I don't want it to end (Strictly too!) as it's so addictive.

Yes Chestnut - Kieran surprised me last night!

Who's applying to be in Series 2? Like dragonfly, I'm not really into reality TV, but love this (but not enough to apply!)

I’m absolutely loving this, and recommending it to all who haven’t yet seen or heard of it.

I'm feeling like it's gone on just a bit too long. Next series maybe start with 15 rather than 22 people? Fewer episodes too?

Chestnut Sat 17-Dec-22 00:22:40

Yes, more tears tonight. I could hardly believe how the men keep sobbing like babies. Kieran is a mature man and looks manly, but he talks like a teenager and cries like one. What has happened to men? They used to be made of much tougher stuff. Men were men and you could rely on them to climb cliff faces, fight in battles and sail pirate ships. Women needed rescuing and often fainted when shocked or scared. Now the roles seem to have been reversed.

Doodledog Fri 16-Dec-22 19:17:40

But they aren't team players. That's the point grin.

I love watching the psychology behind programmes like this - I think that living closely with the others for so long, with only other contestants to talk to will mess with their heads. It's human nature to find someone to bond with and trust, so it must be difficult to know that everyone is ultimately going to try to 'kill' you, and that, coupled with having no-one to talk to about it, must be very difficult. It probably explains the histrionics.

I hate reality shows but totally addicted to this.

Chestnut Fri 16-Dec-22 18:07:14

But she has redeemed herself by refusing the money and staying in the game. They will see she's a team player and the danger might have passed for her.

Aveline Fri 16-Dec-22 17:05:34

If there had been a round table last night Maddy was going to be voted out. We know that from having seen what the others were saying about her but she didn't have an inkling. She now knows that she's not as popular as she thought she was.

But 19 of them will get nothing won’t they Doodle so £3000 is money in hand I think I would have probably be tempted to take it better than nothing which Maddy will probably get as her chance of winning now must be tiny tiny

Yes, that's true. I suppose it depends on how much of a gambler you (generic) are.

I'm not sure I would have gone for £3k, but I definitely would have done for £30k.

VB000 Fri 16-Dec-22 11:23:54

The haggis dangly bits grin
Lol, hope not!

Parsley3 Fri 16-Dec-22 10:04:36

What a horrible challenge. The haggis dangly bits are only an episode away, I tell you.
Maddy saved her skin by turning down the money as the faithfuls were plotting to banish her. They are so fickle when it comes to decision making.

Doodledog Fri 16-Dec-22 09:51:10

I don't know what I would have done in Maddie's shoes. The odds are against her (or any of them) winning, so £3k in the hand is worth having, but a potential £120k is life-changing, and there may be media opportunities for the winner if they want them (eg appearing on The One Show or This Morning). £3k is very nice, but not life-changing.

OTOH, she is young and has more life ahead of her, so it could be that it would be life changing for her. We don't know the circumstances of the people involved. I thought the responses of the others to her choice was interesting, too. Again, £3k is a lot of money, but as a percentage of £120k it isn't, and getting rid of another possible winner has to be of greater advantage to the survivors, yet they all cheered her decision to stay.

Great twist tonight

I agree foxie48 - I don't usually watch reality programmes either. Amazing how the Traitors are so trusted by the others, isn't it Chestnut?

Not so keen on the challenge last night, but at least they had to figure it out as well...

Maddie's confession and then turning down the money offer were a revelation. I wouldn't have done either, in her shoes!

Then of course, the obligatory cliff-hanger ending...

Chestnut Fri 16-Dec-22 00:09:52

The traitors are still doing so well! Both of them had someone saying 'I know 100% you're a faithful' this evening which is amazing.

Tonight's challenge definitely had a touch of 'I'm a celeb....' with water dumped on them and all the worms, maggots and fish guts. But at least they didn't have to eat them. They would never have coped in the jungle! I admit I was rather worried when they had to stand outside shivering, having been soaked in freezing water. Is that a good idea? The weather doesn't look terribly warm, let's hope none of them get a chill.

Great twist tonight

foxie48 Thu 15-Dec-22 18:39:22

I started watching it yesterday, got completely hooked so I've now caught up. I'm really not into reality progs but this is very different and CW is brilliant, she makes me laugh! OH will be devastated to hear there are 12 progs, he thought it was the last one this evening. Dog will be pleased though as we watch it together with a heated throw over us.

Nanatoone Thu 15-Dec-22 11:10:23

Can’t wait for the next episode to see what they do

Doodledog Thu 15-Dec-22 10:36:35

How on earth will they murder in plain sight?
Maybe they’ll have to use a code word or touch the victim- that sort of thing- and If they are spotted they’re out.

They’ve done that on Big Brother before, and it’s often entertaining.

lixy Thu 15-Dec-22 10:32:25

Maddie is really irritating me too, but Will won't murder her because she has been pointing the finger at him.
I think Hannah and Faye are lovely. Amanda is thinking very strategically now.
How on earth will they murder in plain sight?

Doodledog Wed 14-Dec-22 23:50:24

Me too 😡. I saw the notice saying the recording was starting, so switched channel and sat through 15 mins of football post-mortem only to find they'd replaced it with the Repair Shop. It's maddening. There's been football off for ages, and one of the few things worth watching is sacrificed to it too.

Chestnut Wed 14-Dec-22 23:44:29

Well it wasn't on Weds night so that will throw the schedules out. I'm on series-record so it won't bother me, but I had been looking forward to it. 🤨
