We have a new reality show starting on BBC1 Tues night called The Traitors which looks quite interesting. I will definitely give it a try. I notice they are starting it just as I'm a Celeb..... has ended. šŸ˜‰

Is everyone else supporting the traitors/ grin

I have a soft spot for all of them, and don't want them to be unmasked. I think it's because they had no say in their traitor status - if they were really 'betraying' people I'm sure I would be against them.

Love it, episode four was great, suspenseful but funny! So glad Tom has gone, although he did add ā€œedgeā€.
Love Claudia, why get irritated by someone’s fringe?

Aveline Thu 08-Dec-22 09:18:32

Maybe Andrea is quite prominent in the group but the editors just don't show her contributions? They seem to focus more on the more attractive 'yoof' members. We're not seeing it all.

Totally agree with all the above. Loving the twists and turns of this series e.g. the shield idea and the return of the other 2. The church scene with all the masks was quite creepy - OH couldn't believe they were real people!

Just wish I could look as beautiful as Alex when I cry! Yes it pays to be a quiet one in this game.... noticed that Andrea, the older lady, is keeping a low profile!

During the windmill challenge, everyone agreed they didn't trust Fay, yet surprisingly, not really being accused being a traitor!

Surely the traitors will have to bump off Maddie (she's annoying and close to uncovering Wilf too!)

Really looking forward to tonight's show!

I m not sure what it is but the lads seem much more tender than the ladies
I liked Ivan seemed down to earth
I really can’t take to Alex at all not just ā€˜the big lie’ but she doesn’t appeal to me and Tom was awful big headed and over powering
Nice to see Amos and the other chap back
I think Amanda is so far the most under the radar I though Alyssa was but both her and Wilf have been mentioned

As for the crying what on earth is wrong with these people they've only known each other two mins obviously didnt graduate from the school of hard knocks.
It's the youngsters in their 20s who are crying and as we've all noticed in the last 20 years children are brought up in a completely different way. They must be kept happy all the time, whereas the further back you go the more children had to cope with failure, being wrong and not getting their own way all the time. Maybe this is the result, adults who are still infantised.

And so it came to pass! When Ivan said he was a faithful Tom shouted 'kill me now' and rushed outside to have a meltdown. Delicious!

Aveline Wed 07-Dec-22 15:08:29

I really want Ivan to be banished but only to see Tom's ridiculous over confidence in his people reading skills nuked!

kissngate Wed 07-Dec-22 14:57:53

Totally hooked on this show. I hope Amanda votes for Alex to go and presume the Traitors will banish John. As someone said its the quiet ones that are likely to last the longest. If you speak up and draw attention to yourself it only makes you a target for the Faithful. Think Wilf will be the first Traitor to go and Amanda likely to make it to the final week. Started watching the first Dutch series with sub titles but only the first two episodes, will watch two more at the weekend as I dont want to see any spoilers of how the game progresses when less contestants remain.

I'm loving it as a study in human psychology and it's an entertaining concept too

Visgir1 Wed 07-Dec-22 11:35:12

Can't believe they haven't picked on Tom?
He's a " me thinks he protests too much man" and sly. I would have latched onto him.
Didn't think I would enjoy this, but I do.

Parsley3 Wed 07-Dec-22 11:15:38

I want Alex gone now so I hope that the traitors kill her off if she is not banished ( I am really uncomfortable just typing that as it sounds so cruel 😳)
Tom is going to provide entertainment value with his ridiculous boasting. I agree about the quiet ones. It is time that they got some attention.

Chestnut Wed 07-Dec-22 09:32:52

I think Amanda most likely to win. No-one seems to suspect her. Alyssa and Wilf are already under suspicion.

Too much crying last night - always the men... I think Tom is the only one to have any suspicion about Alyssa (I think she could win).

The sheep recognition task seemed quite easy (watching at home of course!)

Doodledog Tue 06-Dec-22 23:49:11

I suppose Tom is relying on people thinking that as 'one of the top magicians in the world' he will be able to read body language and so on. I can't say I'm convinced that that's the case, really grin.

It was an odd episode, I thought. I agree that all the weeping and wailing is strange. People are not being betrayed by life-long friends - they have only known each other for a few days and went into it knowing that they were in competition with one another.

I'm sure that the experience of something like this is more intense than real life, but the sobbing and histrionics is making me wonder how well they were vetted for robust mental health. I thought TV companies were supposed to be better at that nowadays.

Chestnut Tue 06-Dec-22 23:47:30

Another thing, some of them are really quiet and we hardly hear a word from them. They could easily be traitors simply by being so quiet. I know it's in the editing but surely they have more to say. Amos, Andrea, Rayan, Theo and what about Meryl? No-one would suspect any of them.

Chestnut Tue 06-Dec-22 23:39:50

Agreed, Tom is a know-all and has suddenly turned into a control freak! Trying to manipulate everyone and their votes. I really hope it will be Ivan voted out just to put Tom in his place. He won't dare say another word about anyone if Ivan stands up and says 'I'm a faithful' before walking off. Oh the glee of seeing Tom's face. I can't wait until tomorrow night. Please, please let it be Ivan voted out.

BlueBelle Tue 06-Dec-22 22:32:43

Yes NanaKat why are all the blokes crying the women seem so much stronger and more stoic
Tom is a nasty piece of work he’s a real big head and thinks he’s really clever and can read everyone Hope he goes soon

nanaK54 Tue 06-Dec-22 21:49:53

What is all the crying about?
Tom is such a know it all

Oh thanks from me too Chestnut I was getting some names and faces muddled
Yes John I do not like that man one bit
I thought it was really nasty how the doctor Amos and A N other where sent packing before they started
I agree about the trout pout face too chestnut
allsorts you not watching it won’t stop it happening they aren’t climbing Mount Everest in the freezing cold in bathing suits they wouldn’t go in it if they didn’t know it would be a bit scary but it s not that psychologically taxing it really isn’t

It was a shock start to the series!

Totally agree about the trout pout and found it difficult to like her on that basis (superficial I know!)

I like the challenges, especially the bell ringing one, but would not have done well in the last one (upside down etc - won't say too much in case people haven't seen it yet!!)

Oh, thank you. That will be useful, as I have a flea brain for 'easy' TV and only half watch (much to Mr Dog's annoyance).

Yes, that's the one I meant (John). I'm not keen on him, really.

What on earth is Aisha wearing? That dress looks as though it's been stuck on her like the ones on the back of the Bunty.

Imran is the one who keeps telling us that he got a PhD at 21 or whatever grin. Even his bio in the Radio Times is telling us how clever he is.

There are some interesting occupations amongst them. I wonder what's involved in being a cheerleading coach? (Theo) or a BMX athlete (Matt). We've also got a magician and a comedian. I wonder what sort of mix the casting team were looking for.

It's back on tomorrow, and I'll be watching.

Here are the names and faces:

Doodledog Sun 04-Dec-22 23:50:24

Is John the one who was upset when someone assumed that the older team members would hold him back?

The only one whose name I can remember is Wilf grin. That's what comes of watching them back to back a week ago.

Chestnut Sun 04-Dec-22 23:35:48

I really don't like John. He really upset Aaron who will keep well clear of him from now on! They all seemed very upset that Claire was murdered, but I found her trout pout so annoying. I can't bear seeing women with botoxed faces and lips full of fillers. You can spot it a mile off and I'm glad I won't have to look at that any more.
